I’m incredibly honoured to share that I’ve been nominated for a Discovery Award at
@dublinfilmfestival for directing Molly & The Robot 🤍
@mollyandtherobotfilm
Over the last five years, my path as a filmmaker has been anything but straightforward. There were moments when I wasn’t sure I’d get here at all. This film was especially challenging to make, tough conditions, constant problem-solving, and real moments of doubt, but it was carried by the people around me.
I truly wouldn’t be at this point without
@tormeycarol , my DOP, whose belief and artistry kept the vision alive;
@foul_mouth_jo Heffernan, my producer, whose steadiness and determination grounded the whole process; my family and friends, who have supported me in ways big and small; the whole film industry and the incredible crew I get to work with daily and the wider local community around me, especially
@creativemonaghan , who continue to champion local voices and storytelling and for
@combilift_official a local enterprise for coming on board and financially supporting us and one of the reasons the film actually got made.
This nomination doesn’t feel like a solo achievement. It feels like a reflection of what’s possible when you’re held, encouraged, and believed in by others. Filmmaking can feel like a lonely road at times and it is a lonely road but moments like this remind me that it’s really about the people you surround yourself with and I am so grateful to have you all around me.
Thank you all so so much, and I’m carrying this nomination with all of you in mind.
