In 2013 Danish adventurer, Thor Pedersen, left his loved ones behind and set off in an attempt to become the first person to visit every country in the world without flying. He wanted adventure, a title, and to show that the world is a much better place than is portrayed in the news. He got an experience that tested every layer of him as a human being.
The film will be premiering at the Poppy Jasper International Film Festival in Morgan Hill, California this weekend. Catch it at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse at 1pm Saturday April 11. Thor will be there along with his sister, Tove.
It’s been a long journey and we are thrilled to finally be sending the film out into the world.
After 9 years, 7 months and 13 days of continuous travel, Danish adventurer Thor Pedersen has arrived in the Maldives becoming the first person reach every country in the world completely without flying.
We’ve been following and documenting Thor’s project for nearly 4 years and have never seen a human dig deeper to reach a goal. This is a truly monumental achievement.
We are producing a documentary feature film about this impossible journey. There are many layers to this story and it’ll be tough to squeeze it all into 2 hours, but we’ll do our best.
Nobody reaches the top of any professional sport without standing on the shoulders of the heroes and mentors that came before them.
Tracing Influence is the story of six skiers and the people who inspired their lives.
The full film is now live on @salomon TV. Link in our profile.
In November 2018, @tyson.rettie was living his dream as a ski guide and avalanche professional when he noticed some fuzziness in his right eye. Less than a year later he was legally blind.
Instead of giving up, Tyson founded the @braillemountaininitiative with a goal of getting blind skiers out into the backcountry.
Snow Blind follows Tyson as he leads a group of fellow blind skiers on a ski touring trip to @purcellmountainlodge .
The film will be premiering this week in Banff @banffmountainfestival then showing at mountain festivals all over.

Back in 2019 we got connected with Thor Pedersen @onceuponasaga He was 6 years into his attempt to be the first person to visit every country in the world without flying. We thought Covid might stop him, but no, he’s still going.
For the most part the project is a giant headache, but every now and then he sends us a gem like this - off the coast of Papua New Guinea on his way to country #196 Australia.
Our latest film ‘Sam and Me’ just came out.
Sam Tierney was in a dark place. At 13 years old, his anxiety about climate change was so bad that he was having trouble sleeping at night. In an attempt to ease his stress, Sam wrote to Mike Douglas, pro skier and climate advocate, asking for his advice. Seeing some of his own young self in Sam, Mike suggested a weekly ski meet-up to talk about climate change, skiing and life.

Thanks to @salomon and @protectourwinters for making it happen. #samandme #climatechange #fridaysforfuture
After the Rain.
If you live on the west coast of BC you know a thing or two about rain. It feels like it’s barely stopped in the past two months.
In an effort to keep ourselves sane, every time we saw the sky brightening we grabbed our cameras and headed out the door to the forest behind the office. That effort paid off with some magic moments. Here’s a little taste of those, although we are ready for it to the rain to chill and turn to snow. Link to the full edit in our bio.
A bit of fun in the backyard with @anthonybonello and @mikegamble .
We’re lucky to be based in the heart of one of the richest outdoor environments on the planet. 🍀🌎
