Despite the 8000kms and 14 days of racing through some of the harshest desert terrain on earth that pushes teams and machines to their limits, the Dakar Rally is ultimately an exclamation mark on an odyssey that took the team from Canada to Mexico, onto Europe and Morocco before the big dance in Saudi Arabia. “Never Give Up” is the story of taking a dream from a small garage in Calgary to the finish line of the longest and hardest offroad race in the world.

One of the most spectacular itineraries I have done on two planks is from the Aiguille du Midi (3842m), via rappel into the Cosmiques Couloir, to the Bossons Glacier, another rappel, and then all the way down to the valley floor. This route includes high-altitude alpine terrain, crevasses, serac fall risk, and steep passages, descending over 2,700m vertical meters to Chamonix. It was an absolute mind-bending experience made possible by extraordinary mountain guide @morgansalen . Together with Magna, aka @anthonybonello , I was on a short ski vacay before a few weeks of film work for @salomonfreeski , and this opportunity came up one day. The conditions were perfect, and I felt so comfortable together with my much more experienced friends. It turned out to be such a cool experience, and afterwards I understood how special it was, as this route isn't possible to ski so often. Thanks, Morgan and Magna, this day is forever etched in my memory.
It was a team effort. Crossing the finish line of the @dakarrally was the culmination of building a car and a race team from the ground up and working together to overcome all the obstacles in our path. It had never been done by a team from Canada, but we prevailed and hope we won’t be the last!
Thank you to our partner @fordcanada for believing in us. Thank you to our family and friends for allowing us to dare to dream. And thank you to everyone back in Calgary at The Gear Shop HQ supporting us from afar technically and logistically.
This is just the beginning!
Projekcija filma: One Step Ahead
Film prikazuje vzpone in padce ponovnega učenja športa in duševnega okrevanja ❤️🩹. Gre za surov in iskren
pogled na to, kaj je potrebno, da še lahko greš naprej, potem ko se vse spremeni💪.

SS5 | 3rd Open Class Cars
There were smiles all round from world champions and podium finishers to those of us on a journey to simply get to the finish line. The Bronco Raptor shook off the gremlins that disrupted our racing and testing plans for the @rallyedumaroc to show its potential across the rugged desert and towering sand dunes. Despite the hardships of the past week, it was all worthwhile at the finish line sharing the halcyon glow that only comes from completing something truly hard alongside kindred spirits from across the world. Thanks for the experience Morocco!

Prologue Recap
Position: 105th
Today was a rough day for the team out on course after starting in the middle of the pack with the much more specialized ultimate cars and some of the fastest drivers in the world. Shane had a tough time with motion sickness midway through the 19km special but fought on to navigate a clean race while Nathan brought the car home in good condition. Tomorrow they will leave second last on a 780km day with approx 300kms of special stage that will allow them to get into a smoother rhythm and see what they and the Bronco can do. Wish them luck.

Today was a significant day in our journey to be the first Canadian team to build and race a car at the Dakar Rally. After all the checks and inspections, our Ford Bronco Raptor has been certified by the @fia.official making it the first in a new class of Score Ultimate vehicles. A big thank you and shout out to the whole team both here in Morocco and back in Calgary at the shop for the energy and effort that has gotten us to this point. Now we are allowed to race, we need to finish the @rallyedumaroc in order to qualify for the @dakarrally in January. Let’s go!!!

We arrived to the first bivouac of the @rallyedumaroc last night and today was another long day for the team tinkering and adjusting a myriad of things for performance, reliability and to pass the @fia.official technical checks tomorrow that will allow us to go racing. However, despite the long hours and list of things to do, we still managed to sit down as a team and enjoy a tagine, a typical Moroccan dish of slow cooked meat, vegetables, olives and raisins.
T-minus 2 days before we go racing but we are enjoying the build up and experiencing all the new things that go into rally.

The Ford Bronco Raptor is the foundation of our @dakarrally race car that we are developing for the longest offroad race in the world. While there are many things we need to modify to meet the strict @fia.official safety standards for racing, the more we test the car, the more we realize just how capable and advanced it is in stock form. Join us on our journey to be the first Canadian team to build and race our own car at the Dakar.
