I’m still thinking about last Saturday. I played music I created, music I love, to thousands of people at one of the most well known venues in the world. People danced, screamed, head banged (I saw y’all on the rail 🤘🏾). It was such a humbling and frankly “holy shit this actually happened” experience. What a dream come true! Thank you to @djmagofficial North America for having me as an artist to get to know in the November 2024 issue! I had a chat with @brucetantum and we talked music I listened to as a child, how I started producing and djing, and my current and future tracks including ‘Asura EP’, my new release on @blacktechnomatters , and my releases on @not_yet_remembered_records . I made it on the cover of the mag too. Y’all know I’m an anime nerd. One common trope within anime is the power of friendship. I can’t help to think my music career would not be where it is without my friends, those closest to me, and those who believe in me and my art. There are too many of y’all to name and thank. But hontoni arigato gozaimasu (really, thank you very much). It’s my birthday! Thank you to all of my family, friends, and supporters who made this year so great. Looking back on the videos of me djing and performing live from the past year makes me so appreciative of the art and the people that surround themselves in music. I'm so glad I got to share my Echostage debut with @STUKESM4 ! I don't think there was anyone better to tag team that gig with. 🥲 A good lineup should feel like each artist is setting up the next for an alley-oop, and I think it's safe to say we did just that. Now, he brings the heat with Asura EP, a 4-track ride through techno’s dynamic ranges featuring remixes from genre heavyweights, Juana and BLACKHOUSE. Original tracks “Asura” and “The Betrayal” open the EP, highlighted by cavernous heavy kicks, ominous textures, and tension sure to get people thrashing. Juana’s remix adds snappy high-end percussive elements full of swagger to the title track while maintaining its dark and powerful aura. BLACKHOUSE’s quintessential “harder-faster” energy gives “The Betrayal” an appropriate transition from “character introduction” to “final boss fight.” The artwork is inspired by Edo period Japanese art which, when translated, says “Demon Aura, Nine Sword Style, Asura” a famous anime move that the EP derives its name from.
