@studioriley_ was appointed design consultant to @doneanddustedtv ’s team to complete the design of artwork displays. We resolved all the detail interfaces for 23 contemporary Saudi artists work in 11 shows scheduled between April and October.

exhibition design with artist and activist @beccy_mccraycray ’s ‘The Sandhurst Almanac’ - a community-led, rural heritage place-making project. @studioriley_ was consulted on the design of the exhibition.

Commissioned by The Amelia Scott, with support from Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and UK Shared Prosperity Fund, it takes the form of a nature-connection Zine and seasonal guide to the village of Sandhurst, Kent UK - bought together in an exhibition display.

“The Almanac [at the centre of the project and exhibition - a zine format publication] makes connections between past, present and future. It looks both inwards and outwards, recognising Sandhurst’s place in the wide world while celebrating its unique local cultural heritage. It acknowledges the evolving impacts of climate change while using traditional environmental knowledge and collective intelligence to connect us to the land through a local lens.”

The Almanac includes community-sourced seasonal tasks, tips to help wildlife, and advice on what to reap, sow and forage; regional folklore, songs, local history, personal memories, walks in hop farms and vineyards, and seasonal and celebratory recipes; and celestial phases in the Celtic festival tradition.

The Almanac launched with an exhibition in the village hall. A narrow 7.5m bespoke seasonally zoned display surface suspended from the beams and painted in a corresponding seasonal colour palette, sourced from around Sandhurst. It featured objects from the local community.
