Both Walter and Alison have really inspired our work and approach to dissolving boundries between art, design, craft and of course wood. Alison has been a huge influence as she taught me at school, was my boss and a long term friend and mentor. Visited one of our local sawmills this week, trying to find just the right curve for a project. Always inspiring and fuels the passion to make! I love the way sawmills tangibly visualise the relationship between the organic and the linear. Curvy round things turned into the rectilinear and somehow remaining both.
