🎈 Over the last two decades of Studio Emmi, I haven’t only been designing – I’ve also been standing on stage, clammy-handed, talking about design. 👉Link in my bio for Lesson #3: How to turn stage fright into a great talk👈 From @thersaorg in London to @eticoficialin Lisbon, @designmattersdk Tokyo to @rgdcanada DesignThinkers Toronto, I’ve spoken at over 60 events. And no matter how many times I step on a stage, I still get those heart-hammering nerves. But here’s what I’ve learned: stage fright isn’t something to fight, it’s a cue to shift your focus. In my latest article, I share how I went from feeling overwhelmed by pre-talk jitters to seeing speaking as a way to offer something useful. The best talks aren’t about perfection, they’re about connection. I’d love to hear from you – do you have a trick for handling nerves before a big talk? This is Lesson #3 of 20, celebrating 20 years of Studio Emmi. #StudioEmmi20 #PositiveCreativity #DesignForGood #PublicSpeaking #CreativeWellbeing #GraphicDesign

❤️ New York, New York. No better place to begin the North American leg of my book tour. A city where I once worked at @karlssonwilker as a young designer, made some lifelong friends and obsess over brew coffee. A huge thank you to the @vault49 team for welcoming me for a lunch and learn around The Creative Wellbeing Handbook. And especially Jonathan Kenyon - co-founder and executive creative director - who’s featured in the book. He shared something I loved: “Play is infectious. Both John Glasgow (co-founder) and I identify with playfulness. We find it to be the most attractive character trait. When we show up in the studio playfully, others respond, and the same is true in reverse. Our team frequently presents their passions inside and outside of design to the whole team, and the vulnerability of that process deepens friendships and opens up a greater sense of play.” Honestly, a very good reminder that creative studios run best on curiosity. They turn 25 years next year!! Go check out their gorgeous work. Next stop: San Francisco. See you there? #CreativeWellbeing #BookTour #StudioEmmi #CreativeEcosystem #CreativeLife

Absolutely gorgeous work by @lukejpowell ’s and @jody_hudsonpowell ’s great great grandfather, Victorian naturalist Charles Thomas Hudson. Now at @pentagramdesign Osh Gallery. The Hudson Transparencies are a set of fifty-eight images of microscopic plants and animals, created in the late nineteenth century by Charles Thomas Hudson, to accompany his educational talks. The exhibition celebrates his work as a pioneer in the world of microscopy and offers an opportunity to experience how Hudson’s backlit transparencies would have appeared to Victorian audiences. On show at Osh until Thursday 11 June 2026 Gallery open Tuesday - Thursday 11am - 4pm Osh Gallery The Old Sorting House 46 Essex Road London N1 8LN

I dropped in to Playground of Possibilities at @munich_creative_business_week and got to have fun, learn new tricks and make new friends. Like any good play date. A huge thank you to @bayerndesignconnects for putting it together so generously (Christian & Verena👋😘) and to @leonhard_nima for the brilliant moderation. My talk on the Creative Ecosystem and sustained creativity felt right at home with the theme Empowering the Creative Self. As always, the highlight was meeting so many of you. Thank you for coming to find me to share your stories and reflections on how my talk resonated. (And thank you @thiagoesser for sketching me in action!) I was totally inspired by @marije_vogelzang , who treats food as material, medium and cultural practice. Hideaki Ogawa, Julia Maria Otte @ludwig.max.u , @francescogiordano._ , @itscatherines and so many more spiked my curiosity. And to top it all, a fascinating panel hosted by @maxfraserdesign , with sharp thoughts from @alice.rawsthorn and Roberto Verganti @stockholmschoolofeconomics . Plenty to take away as my travels with The Creative Ecosystem Handbook continue. Next stop: London. See you there? #CreativeWellbeing #CreativeEcosystem #MunichCreativeBusinessWeek #SustainedCreativity #PlaygroundOfPossibilities

🍃The direction for the visual identity I created for European Forest Institute, grew from something already valued by the organisation: the existing logo. So instead of reinventing it, I gave it a small refresh and looked more closely at what was already there. By zooming into the leaf’s outline, the identity began to tell a wider story: a form, and an organisation, that adapts with agility, embodies purpose, drives change and sparks curiosity and innovation. #VisualIdentity #BrandIdentity #GraphicDesign #LogoDesign #SustainableDesign

🍃 I’ve created a new visual identity for the European Forest Institute, shaped by shared process and a leaf logo that carries a bigger story. That feels fitting for this moment. Spring makes growth visible again. The kind of growth that happens when something is given the right conditions: light, attention, space, and often a little help from what is around it. Suddenly there are bright green leaves, yellow flowers and new beginnings in many directions. More @efieuropeanforest to come! #VisualIdentity #BrandIdentity #GraphicDesign #LogoDesign SustainableDesign

🌳Our pitämyspuu Our current pitämyspuu is half dead, half alive. One side bare, the other still fresh green. I love that duality. Life and loss can exist in the same place. And still hold. In Finnish folk tradition, a pitämyspuu is a sacred tree, standing in the yard of a home. It belongs to an old Finnish belief, where a tree was chosen or planted to protect the home and bring good fortune. It is seen as a quiet bridge between earth, sky, and the unseen, and by caring for it, the household remains protected. This way, nature is part of your daily life, not a separate escape, and its meaning doesn’t need explaining - it’s just held and respected. #pyhäpuu #pitämyspuu #creativeecosystem #creativewellbeing #tree
