Some runs mean more than others and this was definitely one of them.
A huge thank you to Izzy for pacing me round. What she did today genuinely felt like it fast-forwarded my recovery by a month or so. Not just because of how strong she ran, but because of how well she judged it,
She was thanking the marshals, encouraging others and still making sure I stayed with her.
That takes more than speed — that takes real awareness, kindness and class.
I’m really grateful. Thank you Izzy.
Keep being you mate👊🙏
Farmyard Jam – The Hidden Gem of OCR 🏃♂️💥
If you’ve never done Farmyard Jam, you’re missing one of the most unique events on the OCR calendar. It’s not just a race – it’s a full-on festival of mud, obstacles, and community spirit.
Camping right next to the start line, waking up to the sound of racers gearing up, then throwing yourself into a course packed with farmyard-style obstacles and pure grit. Raw obstacle racing in its purest form.
The format is simple but brilliant – a 24-hour challenge where each 5k lap starts on the hour. Miss the start and you’re DQ’d. Fail to make it back within the hour and you’re DQ’d. (You can race solo, in pairs, or in teams.) It’s a test of endurance, grit, and strategy – but also plenty of laughs as you tackle quirky obstacles and push yourself further than you thought possible.
And when you’re done? There’s music, food, and a campfire vibe that makes you feel like you’re part of one big OCR family.
What makes Farmyard Jam special is the community. Juniors, first-timers, elites – everyone’s welcome, and everyone’s cheered on. It feels less like a competition and more like a gathering of people who just love OCR.
It has the same grassroots, family-friendly, tough-but-fun feel as Tartan Warrior – another absolute must for the OCR calendar. These two events stand out because they capture the real spirit of the sport.
✨ If you’re looking for something different, something that strips OCR back to its roots and adds a festival twist – Farmyard Jam 2026 is the one to book. Bring your tent, bring your mates, and get ready for a weekend you’ll never forget.
Well chuffed to take 1st place in the 40–49 age category at the British OCR 3K Championships hosted by @tartan_warrior ! 🏆💪
