SDS Charity Day 2026 – STREATHAM COMMON PADDLING POOL.
We spent an industrious day in the sun helping a fantastic local cause and felt privileged to be able to help.
@streathampaddlingpool is run by a wonderful group of volunteers and each year one of the most important tasks is to repaint the floor of the pool. This is no small task as the area is pretty big. Luckily being 10 of us on, we managed to get it done by midday. Then, after a delicious lunch and coffees kindly provided by @therookerycafe@roots_berries we spent the afternoon helping with essential maintenance in the surrounding gardens. We finished the day with a refreshing citrus pale ale from the @theinkspotbrewery . A very relaxing way to end SDS Charity Day 2026. We highly recommend a visit to Streatham Common – such a beautiful location with a close community of volunteers and artisans supporting each other’s projects. @streathamscoop
So Christmas is here again and we take the opportunity to reflect on what another busy year we have at SDS.
Our scope of projects continues to grow and our list of award winners gets even longer. On top of this, our team is expanding and we moved offices in the summer to a larger premises.
We would like to say a massive thank you to all the collaborators, clients, contractors and most of all co-workers who have made this year so successful and enjoyable.
2026 is going to be a VERY exciting year for SDS so watch this space!

A sleek and spacious transformation in Fulham 🏡✨
We recently completed the structural design for a new rear and side extension, which included removing existing walls and installing a new ground-floor slab carefully designed around on-site conditions and nearby trees.
The project featured a flat roof with a large rooflight, striking up-and-over corner glazing, internal layout alterations across two floors, and a loft extension with a new mansard roof and additional rooflights. We also assessed and allowed for potential mass-concrete underpinning to the party wall to ensure long-term stability.

The works included a new flat roof with a generous rooflight that floods the interior with natural light, as well as large glazed openings framed with feature brickwork to create a clean, contemporary look. We also formed a new opening in the existing rear elevation to seamlessly connect the extension to the original home and carried out several internal wall alterations to improve the ground-floor layout.
A great example of how thoughtful structural design can transform the way a home feels and functions. 🧱✨

Our new build project in Charlwood is making great progress. Foundations dug and poured, over site cleared, block work up to damp installed, block and beam floor installed over the new MOT sub base. All drainage in.
