We approached this project within a challenging planning environment, where many nearby loft extensions had been refused.
By designing a carefully considered, traditional lead-clad dormer, we were able to gain approval and extend the home into the loft.
Combined with light-filled extensions below, the house is completely reimagined for modern family living.

A 1960s home, updated for modern family life.
We retained and carefully matched the key architectural character and materials — such as the the original brick and timber — and added new elements to improve light, layout, and flow. A rear extension and glass roof open up the ground floor, while bespoke joinery and a cantilevered kitchen island bring everything together.
Here you can see how we used an oversized pivot door to maximise connection to the garden.
