The Tractor Shed is a single storey building on the end of the village, with windows on all sides and views overlooking the countryside.
The building follows the form of the original agricultural building, with tall mono-pitched ceilings supported by an expressed steel structure. High performance insulation and triple glazing combine with ASHP and photovoltaics to create a home that is ‘zero-carbon in use’.

Upon arrival the new building takes the form of a singular agriculturally-inspired barn-like volume,
windows are concealed behind an open horizontal timber screen wrapping the walls.
The facade is punctured with a few primary windows and doors, this simple solid form is transformed at dusk where illuminated windows shine through the cladding, creating an irregular compositions of shapes and revealing the activities within.
