#tbt Local grom @_noah.sonnabend_ suggested to me to do a post on one of my favorite boards from the last 40 years. So I suggested he pick a year between 1985 and 2023 & I’d dig up some old footage or pictures from that year. He decided on 2003. Which I’m guessing was a clean 20 years ago. I found this Indo trip edit. It’s actually 4:15 long so just the first 1:30 on this post. If you want to see rest I can oblige ☺️ I still have the Al shaped @cisurfboards gun seen on first wave. The other purple & yellow board seen on the left I broke in Hawaii circa 2004. #moreclipsmonday here’s part 3 of 3 of my trip to Indo in 2003. Thanks again @_noah.sonnabend_ for suggesting that year. The favorite board in here was my Al shaped 6’0 MBM. Sadly it only lasted one more year. Sure wish I could get back to Macaronis. I’d say it’s my favorite wave in the entire world. Wish a wave pool could be built like it. Thanks @kilgar @monkerlou and others for wanting to see more. ☺️🙏😇

Heroes and friends. Sometimes the good old days seem so far behind us but the @west_coast_board_riders is here to remind us those good old days are still here with us in the present. What a great time at Lowers for the Wheat Cup catching up with old friends as well as catching great waves with them and still being able to create new memories. So much more relaxing not competing with them for our jobs but only for our pride & home team. Glad to share some of our @centralcoastboardriders pride with them through some @805beer Thanks @jason_miller and @surfforeverjj for showing me the ropes at Trestles (yes both Uppers and Lowers) and for sharing e-bikes with me. And much love to all of those in these pics as well as all those I wasn’t able to get pics with but see and of course to the CCBR crew. #mexicomondays Reminiscing that last year at this time I was counting down the days until our trip to @puntaconejoresort Days just seemed to drag and drag. But man was the wait worth it. Not gonna sugar coat it. Spring can be rough on the central coast but the last few Springs have been fun (can’t say much for this year so far). Great times at the @west_coast_board_riders this weekend hosted by @venturaboardriders I’m my biggest critic and felt I was finally back in the saddle again and surfing how I’ve wanted to all season! Stoked to drop an 8.5 & whammy it. Pretty cool with that score I was also able to over take a few groms on our Overall club leaderboard and be the club champ for 2026! Also was a huge feat for our @centralcoastboardriders team to qualify for the Lowers Comp for 3rd year in a row. Big thanks to our 20s who batted clean up. They all crushed it and @lewis_aberle dropped the hammer getting a 8.3 to secure us our spot! Honored and proud to split the MVP with you Lewis! 💪HUGE thanks to @bwilliamdesign and @bflaneur for their hospitality & amazing dinner the night before. I can’t thank you enough. And thanks Brett for the surf the evening before and cluing me into the line up. That was a huge help! Stoked to figure out a few tricks that evening as well. Special thanks to @brilloproductions for a great job and @adam_virs for being not only an amazing host but snapping a few cool shots of myself and @danishanderson See you all at Lowers in a few weeks!!! For me it works from waist high surf up to double over head. Even handles back wash and wonky on days like this one. Huge thanks to @marman_805 and Bryson for going the extra mile to save this pigeon. I get a lot of you might not care for pigeons but this poor guy or gal has been hanging upside down since at least early yesterday am when @theswainfamily_sb38 Marion @eddymunster805 and I all noticed it. We all wished we knew of a way to put it out its misery yesterday as it hung helplessly with its mate sitting next to it. But no matter how often and how hard it tried to fly away from all the excess 20# fishing line wrapped around it thing had no chance. So when we saw it today still hanging there fighting helplessly Mario and I decided we had to do something. So I went in and called Pacific Wildlife @pacificwildlifecare while Mario hunted down a long pruning pole from Jim Tilley. From there Mario and Bryson showed the pier and its discarded lines who’s the boss & plucked the pigeon from the piers grasp and handed it off to Pacific Wildlife where it will get some rehab & take flight again. Well done all!!! Tag Bryson if you know his handle 💪💪💪
