This Friday 8th of May at 18:00 Katerina Sidorova and Stencilwerck's Bertus Gerssen are presenting the book 'Letters to a grieving land'. The book was a collaboration between Stencilwerck and Katerina and took many months to make. We will tell about the process, and a few of the authors will be reading from the book. The book was made possible with a grant from @gemeentedenhaag called the 'Makersregeling'. Please drop by and check it out!

Join us Friday 8th May at 18:00 for the launch of Letters to a Grieving Land at KIOSK Rotterdam. An evening of readings by contributing authors Amy Gowen, Kate Price and Marjolein Ossewaarde with an introduction by editor Katerina Sidorova and printer Bertus Gerssen (Stencilwerck). Letters to a Grieving Land engages with the idea of “traumascapes” - landscapes that carry the imprints of past violence and disruption. Through essays and personal letters, the publication reflects on how these environments have the ability to grieve as well as shape collective memory, foster resilience, and the possibility of renewal. This weekend @bertusgerssen , the owner of @stencilwerck , will participate in the @bermuda.open studio's. Some of his older work will be shown and there will be a free give away of his book with any purchase of Stencilwerck's editions. The book 'Wie er is die blift er al' will also be for sale for a mere €20. It's a look back at his hometown @gemeenteurk where he grew up. It was also his graduation work in 2008 at @kabkphotography . The 3rd edition of (by @r.ndomzine) has extra pages added. It was riso printed and published by us at Stencilwerck. Introduction was by @leonorjonkerThe book was first made in an edition of 25 and completely sold out in a matter of days. The book is in the library of the Centre Pompidou and was on view in Palais De Tokyo as part of the La Morsure Des.This two volume book gives a peek into early Dutch punk zines from 1977 - 1980, when Punk first hit The Netherlands. It is a rare collection curated by Matt Plezier focusing on the graphic output of the zines, from covers, ads, band pages, comics and collages. These zines deteriorated overtime as most zines were stenciled on cheap paper, an inferior but readily available printing technique at that time.
