Bermuda Open brought visitors into the studio of @luis.maly 💫 a space filled with cast creatures, machine parts, and speculative objects developed through his research project Prototyping Power. Between sculpture, engineering, and experimentation, the work revealed an ongoing process where testing and making become part of the work itself. Photos by @goedfolk

What you can’t see, you’ll hear. At @debesturing , many studios were open, while others remained closed. A sound walk by Eva Huisman and Aldo Kroese focused on the unseen spaces, sharing what couldn’t be seen, from the smell of fresh print to the rhythm of machines. Through sound, the work, processes, and atmosphere behind closed doors became accessible in a different way, offering another layer to the building and its artists. Photos by @goedfolk

18–19 April 2026 As part of Bermuda Open in The Hague, @____page_not_found____ hosted one of three group exhibitions across the city, extending the open studio format into a shared exhibition context. These presentations created space for practices that cannot always be shown within a studio setting (due to limited or lack of space, shared conditions, or practical constraints) offering an alternative way into the programme. Rather than positioning these conditions as obstacles, the exhibition proposed an alternative point of entry: translating studio-based practices into a collective setting, while maintaining a close relation to process, material, and context. Together, the open studios and group exhibitions form a distributed programme, one that moves between sites of production and presentation, and invites different ways of engaging with contemporary artistic practices in the city. The weekend is over and we already want to do it all over again! Continuing our look back with @minor_moons , who welcomed visitors into their library during Bermuda Open 2026, an ongoing project exploring what knowledge sharing and collective practice can look like. Handmade membership cards and an eyeglasses necklace workshop invited visitors to experiment with accessories beyond their conventional form and lean fully into the librarian aesthetic. Bermuda Open artists welcome you into their studios this weekend, 18 & 19 April! Karin Kyto wraps existential dread in soft materials and everyday imagery, using playfulness and handmade forms to pick apart the big questions of life and death with a wobble and a dark sense of humour. Ibrahim Ineke works across prose, painting, and graphic narrative to approach the liminal threshold in Islamic thought where the abstract takes visible shape, and to hold that intention against the resistance of apparent reality. Jan Dirk Adams works in painting, drawing, and small sculpture, turning inward to explore the most personal of territories: individuality, memory, love, and the process of truly relating to another person.
