We’re so proud to share that we raised £100 through Kambani ticket sales and the support of our amazing Patreon community Kambani — meaning “let’s talk together” — was all about bringing people into one space to share food, stories, and culture. A reminder that when we come together, we create something powerful To everyone who attended the event, and to our Patreon supporters — thank you. Your support helps us continue creating spaces where different cultures are celebrated, stories are heard, and community can grow. This £100 is more than a number — it’s a reflection of what’s possible when people come together with openness, love, and a shared purpose We couldn’t do this without you. #pamodzimeanstogether #kambani #ubuntuibecauseweare #portsmouthevents #community @portsmouthcityofsanctuary @libertyphotographyuk @the_liberty_lady @bitezy_food @aamayasdreamlondon @portsmouthguildhall @portsmouthwater @blagravetrust @mrsphawkes @_jodie_g @caroleehaz @jomorgantalks @joshisfab @keshiastewartog @stemunityuk @suzyhorton @432nomads

Two years ago, I took a leap of faith and put my purpose into pages. What started as A Girl’s Guide to STEM and Science in the Sun has grown into something far bigger than books… It became a movement. Since that launch: • 900+ books donated across Jamaica via the help of sponsors which placed them into the hands of young minds • 1,300+ students reached across Jamaica • 70+ teachers engaged • 25+ STEM events delivered But beyond the numbers… I’ve seen confidence built in children and teens. And young girls and boys begin to believe, “this is for me.” Because representation matters. Exposure matters. Opportunity matters. And I refuse to let talent go undiscovered just because children were never introduced to STEM in a fun and engaging way. To every school that welcomed me, every sponsor that believed, every child who asked “why” and “how” …. thank you. This is only year two. And I’m just getting started. If you want to understand the deeper mission behind this work comment STEM and I’ll share more details how you can get involved. #STEMSpark #WomenInSTEM #STEMEducation #DiannePlummer #jamaicatiktok

If you look on Shamila Dhana’s Linked in Profile , her lead banner says ‘you were chosen for a purpose’. That statement is all you need to know about what drives Shamila and why she is such an important gift to the city. Her work supporting vulnerable communities and empowering women has been described as life-changing — she has spoken about how volunteering “saved my life” and helped her rebuild while now supporting others facing hardship. It is also why Pamodzi helped support her vision by collaborating with her for the Girls Night In project ; an evening rooted in storytelling, courage and connection. Girls Night In was created as a safe, uplifting environment for young women and girls to explore resilience, hear real stories, and feel empowered through authentic conversation.
We invite inspirational women and girls from our community to share journeys of challenge, growth and strength, and our special thanks goes to our speakers for last night Alice Clarke, Martina Elgue, Laura Watford and Nikki Coles. One of the most special moments from the evening was hearing Shamila speak about how precious each of us is as individuals — a reminder that every story matters, every voice deserves space, and none of us are alone in what we carry. We also want to extend heartfelt thanks to The Host Space for their generosity in welcoming us, and to Fair Ways for their support in helping make this event possible. Partnerships like these allow us to continue creating spaces where stories can be shared, connections built and creativity can flourish across our communities. #PamodziMeansTogether #Ubuntu #IAmBecauseWeAre #TogetherWeRise CommunityMatters GirlsNightIn SafeSpaces EmpoweredWomen CollectiveStrength HealingThroughConnection

Loved catching up with the brilliant Laura Watford of @stemunityuk 💛 Over the past year, Laura has achieved so much — delivering inclusive STEM programmes, creating real pathways between young people and industry, and opening up opportunities for those who don’t always see themselves represented in STEM. Her impact reaches far beyond our city… yet she’s based right here in Portsmouth — and we’re genuinely lucky to have her passion, leadership and vision rooted locally. We’re also excited that Laura will be speaking at our next Girls Night In on Monday 10 February — we can’t wait for our community to hear from her ✨ @laura_chizzwat @stemunityuk #PamodziMeansTogether #UbuntuIamBecauseWeAre #GirlsNightIn #PortsmouthPride #WomenInSTEM CommunityImpact InspiringWomen

⏳ A VERY LATE POST, BUT ONE I COULDNT SKIP⏳ Shaping Portsmouth Conference 2026 honestly left such an impact on me. Starting the city’s Centenary Year at the Guildhall felt powerful with the whole community coming together to celebrate progress and push for even bigger change. One thing that made this year stand out was how present young people were. From youth voices on stage to the conversations happening around the room, it finally felt like our generation had a real seat at the table (quite literally)! Going as part of the Portsmouth Youth Cabinet made it even more meaningful, especially as an MYP candidate. Seeing young people represented so strongly reminded me exactly why youth voice matters. And I have to mention one of the coolest moments, watching Clare Martin arrive mid‑conference on her Pompey Plod, completing five marathons in five days. The whole room lit up. It was such a powerful example of dedication and community spirit, and it added this incredible buzz to the day. I loved hearing the updates on last year’s programmes, the vision for the city’s future, and seeing the Shaping Portsmouth Awards celebrate people making real change. The Shaped By Solent Shop takeover added such a fun, creative vibe too. I left feeling motivated, and excited for everything ahead in Portsmouth’s centenary year. I’m so proud of our Portsmouth community!💙
