The Dignity Defenders Workshop & Campaign represents a critical and highly effective values-based movement to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Gauteng, South Africa. 🇿🇦
The 2025 program successfully engaged a total of 467 male learners (ages 13–16) and 35 educators across two focused phases.
The overall goal is to equip boys with the knowledge, values, and emotional intelligence to lead lives of dignity, empathy, and responsibility was demonstrably achieved, positioning these young men as powerful agents of change and protectors in their schools and communities, in direct support of SDGs 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice). 📚🌍

As we mark our 15th year celebrating the Foundation, today
let us remember Steve Sinnott.
Steve Sinnott once said:
“There are some things that should never be left to chance in life and striving to achieve quality education for all of the world’s children is one.” 📚
Forever in our hearts. His passion for education and unwavering dedication continue to inspire us all today. His legacy lives on as we support the provision of quality education for all 💚

“Who can do such things?”
A question children often ask when learning about the Holocaust.
The answer begins with understanding how prejudice grows — and how ordinary acts of kindness can make a difference. Through conversations with students, we explore racism, refugees, resilience, and the importance of listening to each other’s stories.
Because when enough of us become witnesses, perhaps we can help ensure it never happens again.

Every child deserves access to education without the burden of an exhausting journey. @gtu.official
In The Gambia’s Central River Region North, some students walk 8–11 km every single day just to reach school. Today, with the support of the Steve Sinnott Foundation and the Gambia Teachers’ Union, 36 bicycles were handed over to help ease that journey and keep more children safely in school.
Behind every bicycle is a story of resilience, determination, and hope for a brighter future. This intervention will help improve attendance, reduce physical strain, and give students more time and energy to focus on learning.
Because education should never be out of reach. 🚲📚

Unlocking opportunity one bicycle at a time.
Long trips to school mean shoes wear out quickly. When teachers discovered one child who was having to walk to school bare foot because his family could not afford any more shoes, they decided to look into what could be done about it. This prompted the initiative to find bicycles to help students to get to school.

Girls miss up to a quarter of their school time, because they do not have the facilities to manage their periods.
Our programme teaches students about menstrual health and how to make their own period pads. These pads are made using locally sourced materials. Which are affordable, sustainable, reusable, washable, long-lasting and eco-friendly.
