Look 3: Hand knitted elastic wool t shirt and pleated/felted wool skirt
Look 12: Pleated/felted wool dress with twisted straps.
In November last year I was lucky enough to do a residency at
@sjolingstaduldvarefabrik to learn more about how the wool mill operates. During my time there, I was allowed to play around on the needle felting machine. The machine is generally used to make wool felt mats, with carded wool going straight through the machine while 3000 needles felt the wool together. I had the idea of hand pleating and felting just a section of a fabric to create a pleated skirt. I used wool woven at the mill and it worked! Even better, the power of the 3000 needles (which happened to be positioned in a herringbone formation) created an almost ‘woollen braille’ texture as seen on the Navy Blue Wool Skirt in Look 3 and the Grey Wool Dress in Look 12.
Thank you to
@_lauragrue_ and
@sophiekongste for constructing the skirt and dress 💙🖤
