⭐️ Onsite Gallery "Metabolic Loop | The Delaney Family Emerging Curator's Prize" Curator Spotlight: Steffi Ng Sin Tung @steffitung (GAS Collective @thegascollective ) ⭐️ ❝ For my curatorial practice, I primarily focus on the complexities of Asian immigration experiences and also the different alternative collaborative and accessible curatorial practices... ❞Steffi Ng Sin Tung Steffi Ng Sin Tung curates, writes, and takes photos to explore the complexities of the Asian immigration experience. We are thrilled to welcome our next Curators-in-Residence, @thegascollective ! 💫 From April to September, GAS Collective (@steffitung and @gizemcandanart ) will explore materials as a shared ground for knowledge exchange and build upon their ongoing interests in sustainable curatorial cycles and material recirculation. Material Conversations GAS Collective April - September, 2026 Taking the material research and process-based practices of four artists — @mperaza_ , @elenakirbys and @_masu , and @howsem — as an entry point, GAS will develop a publication that inquires into how material knowledge can be put into tangible conversations and transformed into exhibition-making strategies for curators as well as creative solutions for other arts practitioners and a wider community use. Here, artists’ material knowledges serves as the nexus to explore curators’ role in materials and materiality. Why should curators care? How can they learn from artists and mobilize their artistic and technical material strategies to exhibition design? What (new) material kinships might emerge between curators and artists? 👉 Three artist-led curatorial workshops will take place throughout the residency. Registration opens April, 2026. Stay tuned! Read more about the project via 🔗 in bio. 📸: Steffi Sin Tung Ng and Gizem Candan, courtesy of GAS Collective.

✨ UPCOMING EXHIBITION ✨ Please join us next Wednesday, January 21 from 5 - 7 pm for the opening of our upcoming exhibition, 𝘔𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘓𝘰𝘰𝘱 (January 21 - May 16, 2026) at Onsite Gallery. Curated by GAS Collective, the two-person exhibition features multi-sensory works by artists Alyssa Alikpala and Maria Simmons. It foregrounds their artistic practices that render largely inaccessible environments such as peatlands, and invisible experiences such as metabolism and fermentation more accessible, accentuating the tension and balance involved in translating natural phenomena into gallery spaces through technological means. Artists: Alyssa Alikpala @alyssaalikpala Maria Simmons @rattsarina Curated by GAS Collective (Gizem Candan @gizemcandanart & Steffi Ng @steffitung ) 📅 Reception: Jan 21, 2026 (Fri) 🕒 Time: 5-7 pm 📍 Location: Onsite Gallery, 199 Richmond St W Ground Floor, Toronto, ON @onsite_at_ocadu 💚🌱🌿🌾☀️💦🌀💫

✨Meet @steffitung the next artist in AACT’s Newcomer Artist Mentorship Program. When asked about a recent project she’s working on, she shared: “I am working on 2402 (tbd), a photo-book project that brings together the photographs I’ve taken with my grandma over the past two years, whether during my visits back to Hong Kong or through Zoom and phone calls.” She added: “In this photo-book, I hope to explore different ways of staying connected with my family, as well as experiment with how to archive my grandma’s stories while we are miles apart.” Stay tuned to meet more artists in this cohort ✨
