This February and March, StandardVision is showcasing selections from interdisciplinary artist Suzy Poling (@suz.pol.pod.blotz )’s Natural Phenomenon across several of our large-scale, high-resolution LED facades throughout Los Angeles. ⁠ ⁠ Working across photography, video, sound, and installation, Poling transforms natural environments into luminous, otherworldly terrains through optical experimentation, saturation, and layered interference. Presented at architectural scale, these vivid landscapes loom above the city, interrupting the urban rhythm with amplified visions of nature that feel at once organic and alien.⁠ ⁠ Catch the series on view through March 31st, and learn more about Poling’s practice by following the link in our bio.

StandardVision is currently showcasing an excerpt from a film by LA-based multimedia installation artist @lloydgalbraith on the large-scale digital facade at the Courtyard Marriott LA Live in downtown LA. ⁠ ⁠ Created in collaboration with Indonesian-Australian producer and artist @yuniv3rs3 , the work reflects Galbraith’s signature visual language—ritual-like portraiture shaped by light, repetition, and distortion. Bodies loop and fracture across physical and screen-based space, transforming the facade into a shifting visual portal experienced at architectural scale. Presented in the public realm, the work invites passersby into a slowed, immersive encounter with image, movement, and sound.⁠ ⁠ Catch the film on view through February 13th, and learn more about Galbraith’s practice by following the link in our bio.

For the month of November, StandardVision has curated a site-specific showcase of photographer Yannis Davy Guibinga’s (@yannisdavy ) Of Color series across a number of StandardVision’s large-scale exterior displays throughout Los Angeles. Guibinga’s practice reframes narratives of the African continent through a vivid, contemporary lens. His portrait photography celebrates identity, culture, and belonging, and documents a new generation of Africans who embrace the multiplicity of their heritage in a globalized world. His Of Color series explores how color itself becomes a language of emotion, memory, and identity. Last Saturday was a defining moment for Fuser. NEW SYNTAX was the first of many Fuser gatherings designed to deepen how we make, share, and understand our media culture. Curated by @alicescope , the symposium featured keynotes by @trevorpaglen , @jonrafman , @mayaontheinternet , and @wwwtinazone ; along with an evening program of performances by @portraitxo , @_ma_ral_ , and @exanima.obj ; and a showcase of fourteen Fuser residents: @__frijoles_ , @clmfrt , @exanima.obj , @hypereikon , @lloydgalbraith , @karinaxlllpz , @katie_torn , @nikvsio , @ninocence , @seungmin , @sstewrat , @theo.trian , @vora______ , and @wendiyan . StandardVision and @fuserstudio present a site-specific showcase of artist, technologist, and writer Wendi Yan (@wendiyan ) across our large-scale LED displays throughout Los Angeles, on view starting today and through October 13th.⁠ ⁠ Yan creates speculative epistemologies through research-driven worldbuilding and metafictional simulation, using CGI, game engines, and documentary practices to probe the artifice of knowledge.⁠ ⁠ Her art film VISIONS OF A PHOSPHINE EARTH imagines a research-based fictional planet with life in its sulphuric clouds. This meditative, nonnarrative short journeys between fiction and science, macro-landscape and micro-imaging, revealing the unbelievability of life beyond Earth.⁠ ⁠ The showcase coincides with Fuser Studio’s Symposium and Launch Party NEW SYNTAX, happening on October 11 at @svstudiosla and in collaboration with StandardVision. StandardVision was honored to present the StandardVision Showcase Award and Honorable Mentions at this year's festival.⁠ ⁠ IF I WERE YOU was chosen as a StandardVision Honorable Mention and will be on view through the end of September. An evocative duet, the film follows a couple sharing the oscillating dance of intention and disruption. They move through a continuous exchange of support and potential peril, pushing themselves and each other toward self-discovery. They fall into known patterns, desperate to shift. They beckon and reject each other, shattering and careening toward a fragile togetherness. Set within the layered landscape of Venice Beach, where displacement and scarcity coexist with affluence, the film follows a meeting between two men at an alleyway intersection.
