Witness the versatility of @baristaseries Pistachio Milk! This fresh, trendy flavor is the latest from our friends at Pacific Barista Series. It’s tasty. It’s subtle. It’s velvety smooth. And the best part? Barista Series Pistachio complements hot AND cold beverages. Steam it. Foam it. Stir it. Shake it. Come on, now, this is PISTACHIO we’re talking about. Have fun with it! #ad #SprudgePartner

On April 12th, Bala of Taiwan won the 2026 World Latte Art Championship. This story was widely reported, including here on Sprudge. But now all mentions of Taiwan as they relate to Bala’s historic win have been removed and replaced from the official World Coffee Championships website, which today credits Bala’s win to Chinese Taipei. This story was broken yesterday by @taipei_times — the World Coffee Championships have historically used Taiwan, the term generally preferred by the competitors and the Taiwan Coffee Association. The use of the name in WCC events goes back to at least 2007, when Taiwan was first represented by Van Lin in the World Barista Championship. Sprudge has record of it being used in 2010, the first year we covered the championships. In 2016 Berg Wu won the World Barista Championship representing Taiwan. Per the Taipei Times, the switch to Chinese Taipei on the WCC’s website was made on April 28th. And indeed Chinese Taipei has now replaced all mentions of Taiwan, including the removal of an image of Bala standing on the WCC stage with the screen behind him noting he represents Taiwan. New on Sprudge — a two-part feature from @thejennchen about adventures in urban drupe shrubbery. Growing a coffee plant in your apartment or home is both harder and easier than it sounds; Jenn Chen visited one particularly successful venture in San Francisco, and shared some helpful hearty houseplant tips to try out at home. Links in bio, thanks for reading Sprudge! #coffee #coffeeplant #coffeeshrub #coffeedrupe

My personal top 5 is always changing, but it's strongly influenced by awesome coffee, genuine hospitality, and a fun experience. These 5 hit all those marks in different ways, but are guaranteed to leave you thinking about them for a while. @swamp_shinjuku impeccable vibes. Great taste in music, delicious roasts, and one of the best cappucinos I've ever had. Snag one of the competitive seats indoors for maximum enjoyment. @philocoffea the coffee has always been consistently great, but the new Omotesando location is beautiful and feels like luxurious and quiet retreat in such a busy area. Always ask to see your pourover get made! @leaves_coffee_roasters a unique and special coffee experience that's accessible to all. I've never seen a shop so focused on details and precision. Also happens to be one of my favorite roasters ever? @acidcoffeetokyo really fun and insane coffee line-up. You can try so many coffees (20+?) I also just really enjoy my coffee coming in a wine glass 🤷‍♂️ but the friendly baristas make it extra special. When you leave, expect them to say "see you tomorrow!" @miamia_kuramae the most warm and inviting hospitality in Tokyo. You don't feel like a customer, you feel like a guest here. It helps that the decor and vibe is super homey and warm in a nostalgic yet meticulously curated way. You can tell there's a lot of love here, especially for their employees and patrons. #SprudgeTakeover by @seijinanbu
