COVER REVEAL! And what a cover. The fabulously funny, deliciously anarchic and decidedly silly new picture book from award-winning creator @samusherbooks Life is full of LOTS of rules. For example: DO NOT pick your nose. DO NOT eat your sister's birthday cake the day before her party. DO NOT dive into a paddling pool full of alligators. And definitely, and I mean definitely, DO NOT press that BIG RED BUTTON. But what happens if you break the rules? It might be FUN! It might be EXCITING! Let's find out. WARNING: This book contains A LOT of silliness. Published on 10 September by @bloomsburychildrens and available for pre-order now.

We’re delighted to welcome the brilliant @oryn_redford to Spring Literary. Oryn is a children’s book illustrator, author and painter from Scotland. In 2020, she graduated with a BA in Animation from Duncan of Jordanstone before moving in 2025 to study the Children’s Book Illustration MA at Cambridge School of Art @csacbi Oryn works predominantly in acrylic gouache, giving her work a vibrancy. She is heavily inspired by childhood memories and feelings, as well as the Scottish Highlands in which she grew up. Her work often takes on themes of being alone, friendship and folklore. Oryn’s goal is for her art to evoke a feeling of cosiness and comfort as well as a sense of wonder. When she is not making art she enjoys a cup of tea, and adventures in the hills. Publishers – you will see more of Oryn’s art and ideas at Bologna and beyond!
