VOSP
VOSP is the solo audio work of Eric Grieshaber (Providence, RI). EG has been a contributing member of the east coast noise circuit for over a decade, formerly developing heavy electronics as Soft Target and contributing to bizarre and obscure collaborative projects like Pool (See CS “Odlaw” on Softer Recordings) and Hand Of Food. With VOSP EG aims to create an auditory environment narrated by an existential temperament and driven by textural intricacies. Field recording techniques, modular and computer synthesis result in a discomforting approach to concrete music and composition. From searing moments of intensely fried and damaged synth to near silent, ghosted record entries, you may walk away from this work asking yourself for directions to the bottom of the ocean. See descriptors: gross, confusing, psychedelic, humor.
Additionally, EG co-manages the small, US based abstract music label
@tryhcld .
DJ CHOOCH
DJ Chooch is an electronic enthusiast based in the American Southeast, releasing albums via
@hot.releases and
@industrialcoast . Her work draws from experiences within the Caribbean diaspora and explores emotions of grief, confusion, and devotion. Recent live performances employ live sampling and looping of traditional Guyanese bells and found keyboards, sculpting hypnotic reveries from chaotic sources.
PARTRIDGE & TAYLOR
Dan Partridge is a committed devotee of extended technique bowed saw performance, releasing work on both Softer Recordings (“Die Singing Säge” LP) and Enmossed (Featured on MARV’s “Keyboard Suite II” LP). His work explores microtonal, idiophonic minimalism, grounded in the sonic traditions of the Appalachian Mountains. Here, performing as a duo with Nathan Taylor (Softer Recordings honcho and audio engineer) on effect treatments, synthesizer, and further sonic abstractions.
