Across countless releases they’ve established themselves as true architects of beautifully musical dread. Carrie DeCunzo “Loam” C44 Available Now at tryhold.bandcamp.com In its emptiness, the air is full. Dense molecules hide secretive spaces between, are they small enough to hide an emotion? Clean air is vandalized by thought. Early morning, before activity spins across the day and marks it. Late night, when the pins that held meaning to the wall forget to hold the sentences that formed a prayer together.  Daylight proceeds inefficiently, family questions and answers can only go so far. Our shared traditions become worn faceless like a coin that has passed through billions of hands. The touchstone loses it’s shape and becomes a little ridiculous. Only lasting a few moments, before being removed by security, laughing to yourself. Strange behaviors acting up, without warning. You hear vignettes of chaotic muck that boil into an alluring vapor. Purring an intoxicating melody directly into your brain, belligerently accompanied by an array of enthusiastic saxophone bursts. The fun isn’t over yet; we’re back at the zoo again. This time you’re gurgling something incoherent as children tap on your glass confinement, amused by your confusion and puzzling, synthetic form. It feels good to be in the void. Distant cartoon broadcasts explode from someone else’s memory. Slapping the side of the TV won’t help you get a clear picture this time. Change the channel again to find your ancestors hovering in desert clouds; prepared to deliver a much needed, cleansing rain. Your path has washed away but the sense that things will soon grow here offers peaceful validation as you disintegrate into the next life. Blind CC is an enigmatic, remote duo comprised of Adam Keith (Cube) and Max Nordile. “Charisma” is the follow-up to their 2021 release “Typical Pursuit” via Refulgent Sepulchre. Miniature insects scream before self-detonation, leaving their previous form’s matter to erode and sift into formless sculptures. After viewing the real world for just a moment, evading human conflict or crisis, we return to a delusional aura. Our bodies transform and components rearrange for a new, concealed duty. Shifting apart, reconnecting and folding into endlessly smaller space. Crushed and pulverized into dust clouds that swirl into the image of a distant thought. Upon opening your eyes, you brush off the soot and realize that none of this was real. Move quickly towards the exit and don’t look back.
