Looking back on year one of Chozick Family Art Gallery! Thank you so much to all of our artists, supporters, friends and family members. We do this for you! As an art advisor, I’m interested in creating opportunities for more people to connect with contemporary art in meaningful ways. When @jaquelinecedar invited me to curate a booth for @split_level_fair , I jumped at the chance to present a pair of artists whose work would spark curiosity while also being highly practical: scaled for apartment walls, accessibly priced, and best appreciated up close in person. In a fabulous closet at @rimadesio_newyork , I paired layered, tactile monochromatic paintings by @peterlynch58 with a group of friendly, illuminated sculptures by @chbeesty . Both artist’s interest in ‘showing their work’ through visible gestures, wires and connections feels particularly relevant in today’s era of overly glossy and generated visuals. I’m very proud of how the space came together and honored by the generosity and support of the exhibitors and guests. Thank you @wsj and @impulse_magazine_ for the kind acknowledgments. This fair is exactly what the market needs.
