Jelly! A nightlight made out of a pack of erasers I found at the dollar store. On view now at @thefutureperfect Dudd Lite nightlight show with @jonald.dudd . Illuminated with LEDs and a custom power supply, this nightlight has been specially engineered to not block the outlet below. Thanks @wunjopottery for last minute 3D printing help!

At NADA New York, artists Chris Beeston @chbeesty and Wyatt Bertz @wyatt_bertz are collaborating for the first time on a body of work. The duo explain their approach to working as a partnership as well as explored themes: “With this new body of work we explore an expansive view of spirituality encompassing ancient and contemporary belief systems. We constrained ourselves to a single, repeating geometric grid unit derived from a paper sculpture originally created by Beeston (Open Cell, 2015). Borrowing the surface treatment from Bertz’s recent body of kinetic light sculptures with automotive finishes and precise grids of crystal rhinestones (such as Volumetric Rhinestone Lattice #4 (Purple Spike Cube), 2026), we permuted this grid system across several sculptures that together represent a spiritual ascent.” NADA New York @newartdealers is open to the visitors through Sunday 5/17 or reach via DM for additional information. —— Purple Portal (Powerade) UV Resin, automotive paint, mirror-backed crystal rhinestones, steel hardware 7” x 7” x 7” 2026 Photo by @balaramaheller

Welcome @chbeesty Chris Beeston builds lamps, stereos, and other functional objects from found materials and dollar store containers. He imagines a future where these “post-apocalyptic housewares,” hand-built from scavenged and repurposed parts, have replaced our mass-produced material culture. His work has been exhibited at Patrick Parrish Gallery, International Objects, and The Hole. Chris brings his doomsday optimism to After Hours.

Chris Beeston @chbeesty rounds out the duo, with Wyatt Bertz @wyatt_bertz , for our 95 Gallon presentation at NADA New York @newartdealers . Their presentation ‘A Holy Place’ will be on view May 13 - 17 at the fair. Artist bio below: —— Chris Beeston (b. 1985, Charlotte, North Carolina) makes functional objects like lamps and stereos, as well as intricate geometric sculptures made from simple materials like paper and foam. His “post-apocalyptic housewares”, built from dollar store food containers, found objects, and electronic parts, evoke a future where scavenged items are put to new use. His work reflects a belief that modern consumers, surrounded by profit-driven mass-produced goods, desire deeper emotional connections with handmade objects. His work has been exhibited at Patrick Parrish Gallery, International Objects, and The Hole. Photo Credit: Eric Helgas

I hope you’ll visit Plein Air, an amazing show of new sculptures by Robert Gober, on view until April 18th at Matthew Marks in Chelsea. I had the distinct pleasure of working on the electrical components for these vitrines, including lots of tiny LEDs and a battery system that allows them to be exhibited with no visible power cord.

Made a little wall-mounted bedside reading/nightlight yesterday. If you need a little last minute Xmas gift DM me and I’ll ship it you tomorrow. $300. Not guaranteed to arrive exactly on Christmas but should be close! This piece started life as a test rig for the dimming system I developed for an edition of lamps I made in 2023. LEDs are tricky to dim smoothly without flickering. Lately I’ve been going through old scraps to see what can be repurposed into something new.
