This is the first play I've produced in five years. I'm thrilled to bring it to life in the East Village. THE ASK is a Theater Accident production and I'm so grateful to my co-producers, @needlesslynat and @moiraruby .

With Obi-Wan on the horizon, I've decided to try something new: a Substack where I share my various and sundry thoughts about all things Star Wars. If I'm going to be this obsessed with this Galaxy Far Far Away, I might as well make content for myself and for those interested, and not just, you know, produce it for Facebook.
For those who don't know what a Substack is, it's basically a newsletter that shows up in your inbox from me, a mini-publication delivered directly to you. You can also go to the Substack page and read it like any website.
My plan is post a few articles this week to get the format figured out and the officially launch with my thoughts about Obi-Wan on May 27th. There will be free content and a paid tier where you'll get access to everything.
There’s a lynx in my biome!
Got my flagon of slips slips, the brainchild of @hopacita@jeffisaweso.me and Kristin Leigh. (My buddy @matthewtrumbull was in Issue 1 and because I envy him all his accomplishments, I submitted to Issue 2). This old school paper product is full of Dialogues by brilliant weirdos like @davidcotenyc@johndevore@themacrogers@madkingbob@kjfitzsimmons@jcomtois1@caviglia_jr and lots lots more. As for my piece, “upper binding book,” it was inspired by a piece of @phantasmaphile ‘s book Magic Maker, where she explains David Bowie’s use of Verbisizer software. I employed this digital cut-up method to wring something new from the collective you-know-what. Get your own copy! Or ask me for one! I’ve got some!
Last week I got to work with a collection of brilliant artists on a musical version of The Emperor’s New Clothes called THE ENC, thanks to Megan Carter and @zaccrowell aka @mech.raven . It’s co-written by @bonnseanette of one of my favorite bands: @ajjtheband . He’s an absolute prince and madman and and has written fantastic songs for this nudity-rich piece of cheeky political theatre. @jessidhillpuppypics1 directed the workshop (always amazing) and we partnered yet again with the wonderful Peter Vitale (@tttmusicguy ) to translate our impulses into actual musical theatre. The actors? Divine: Fellow @newdramatists alum @taylormacnyc , @moiraruby , @davidryansmith , @abrahamgoldfarb , @curtis_wiley , @its_angellin , @jasonsweettooth and @tomstaggsnyc . They say don’t meet your heroes, but they don’t know shit: work with your heroes. They’re awesome. And they’ll make you up your game. Can’t wait to share this with everyone!
