So thrilled to reveal the glorious cover for my new book, MAGIC MAKER: THE ENCHANTED PATH TO CREATIVITY. My intention for this tome is to help you supercharge your own creativity using magical techniques, as so many visionaries have done throughout history (and as I do myself). This book has been a lifetime in the making, and I can’t wait to share it with you: “Creativity and magic are one and the same. From the songwriting divination of David Bowie and the bewitching shapeshifting of Beyoncé, to the Ouija board poetry sessions of Sylvia Plath and the abstract painting séances of Hilma af Klint, to the manifestation method of Octavia E. Butler and the daily meditation of David Lynch, mystical practices have been responsible for generating some of the world’s most beloved creations. While there are many books on creativity out there, none of them examines the specific ways that magic has been embraced by creative visionaries throughout history, nor do they explore how makers can start using these methods in their own creative processes. Magic Maker is the first. In this book, critically acclaimed author of Waking the Witch Pam Grossman shares how you can use magic to enhance your own creative practices. Smart, captivating, and gorgeously written, Magic Maker is filled with stories of artists, musicians, writers, filmmakers, and other creatives throughout history who have applied magic to their process. Grossman shows us how we can tap into the same inspiration for our own creative pursuits, whether it’s writing a song, a novel, software code, or figuring out our path in life. Delving into topics such as spellcasting, invocation, spirit communication, divination, and more, Grossman provides an enchanting and practical guide for anyone who wants to unlock their own creative magic and make whatever it is you’re meant to in this lifetime.“ Thank you to @glass_literary_management for connecting me to my stellar (and solar!) editor @amy.g.sun , and to @lynnbuckley2 for designing a cover that so beautifully conjures the Mercurial magic of The Magician. 📕🪄♾️💫 Out on Oct 14, 2025 from @penguinlifeus & @hayhouseuk , and available for pre-order now (🔗 in 🅱️👁️⭕️)

🧙 NEW @witchwavepod 🧙 Aidan Wachter (@aidan_wachter ) is an animist magician who has been actively involved in magical practice since the 1980s. His work reflects a wide ranging, eclectic, and non-dogmatic approach, with influences from many paths. His books include Six Ways: Approaches and Entries for Practical Magic; Weaving Fate: Hypersigils, Changing the Past, and Telling True Lies; and Changeling: A Book of Qualities. Aidan’s writings and extensive Patreon teachings focus on the practice of the craft as a learnable set of skills that can be developed rather than innate talents that must be inherited or granted to the seeker. His books are field guides rather than philosophy. He is based in the Pacific Northwest. On this episode, Aidan discusses his practice of “dirt sorcery,” the romance of animism, and how magic can help us conjure a better world. Pam also talks about how she’s making space for new energy, and answers a listener question about working with bird deities. 🧙🌳👻🪾🕯️🔮📖✍️✨ Our sponsors for this episode are @weiserbooks , @mithrascandle , @betterhelp , @blessedbemagick , and @zouzincense
