Phantasy are delighted to once again welcome Roman Flügel for a new single, ‘Tippex in My Eye’. Appearing in collaboration with fellow Phantasy artist and London-based songwriter, PYTKO, representing his first-ever vocal collaboration, Flügel’s third release on the label finds the prolific German producer exploring digital dub and avant-garde shades of electro-pop ‘Tippex in My Eye’ meditates on bass weight while slowly working a strange and spacious kind of magic, showcasing PYTKO’s enigmatic, surrealist vocals as an incantation for this strange, unexpected journey. Meanwhile, an alternate, floor-focused ‘Dance Mix’ transforms minimalism into euphoria, escalating toward a cosmic breakdown and dramatic release. Roman Flügel’s ‘Tippex in My Eye (ft. PYTKO)’ is available now on limited-edition vinyl, shipping from today via the Phantasy store, on Bandcamp, and from select record shops, as well as streaming wherever you listen to music. Following on from Number’s previous single ‘Amber’ which included a remix from the iconic A Certain Ratio, we see them return with ‘Discoid’, taken from their highly acclaimed ‘Pollinate’ LP, this time remixed by the mighty Tranquil Elephantizer. Tranquil Elephantizer are a producer and live-electronic/DJ project, whose sound navigates the intersection of organic rhythm, immersive texture and dance floor precision. Drawing from deep house, jazz, dub, downtempo, and psychedelic electro, their work is built around hypnotic grooves and layered percussion, with releases on respected labels such as Wicked Records, Future Boogie Recordings and Red Laser Records. Inspired by a love of A Certain Ratio, Talking Heads, P funk and scratchy dub, NUMBER is a forward-thinking sound machine fronted by Ali Friend and Rich Thair – the co-founders and rhythm section of music pioneers and renegades, Red Snapper. Rich and Ali started NUMBER as a means of rediscovering something of what they grew up with; the dirty disco bass lines, noisy drum machines, wonky percussion, leering live drums, jagged guitar melodies and uplifting soulful songs of the 80’s. Number - ‘Discoid’ (Tranquil Elephantizer Remixes) is due to be released on the 18th of May, whilst the original version of ‘Discoid’ is out now via Ramrock Red Records. 🎶 @numberband_official 🎧 @tranquil_elephantizer 💿 @ramrockrecords

Out today! The debut album from @boysshorts_ - ‘What Does It Take To Make These Men Happy?’ - ALL SORTS. Known for their charismatic singles on influential dance music labels including Phantasy and Live At Robert Johnson, as well as their intoxicating DJ sets in discotheques and dark rooms across Europe, Boys’ Shorts have earned the trust of queer and wider clubbing communities as generous stewards of a timeless sound that, like themselves, never stops moving forward. Following years of touring through queer-led clubs and dancefloors across Europe and the US, What Does It Take To Make These Men Happy? is an emotionally rich, dancefloor-led body of work exploring longing, connection, nostalgia and modern intimacy. Moving fluidly between sensual house, electro-pop, disco, acid and slow-burning techno, the record reflects years of shared history, remote collaboration and lived experience. Built around Boys’ Shorts’ core ethos - music for connection, release and feeling, without sacrificing playfulness or groove - the album captures the intimacy of late-night dancefloors and the emotional charge that exists between bodies, sound systems and shared moments. Named by The New York Times as one of “5 Artists To Watch”, and with a touring history spanning Panorama Bar, Le Bain, Basement and House of YES, alongside support slots for Hot Chip and Alison Goldfrapp, Boys’ Shorts step into a defining album moment. A record equally suited to hazy, sweat-drenched club floors and intimate after-hours listening at home, it positions the duo as trusted stewards of queer club culture with a sound that moves effortlessly between the dancefloor and the after-glow in the spaces that follow.

Out now @addy_weitzman - Stranger To Your Kind (@ddwy__ Remix) - @slacker85 .. 🔗 in bio. Through prior releases on Public Possession and Test Pressing, ddwy have recently emerged as cult heroes of a resurgent UK DIY electronic scene, conjuring magic and sonic bliss from their kitchen table in suburban London. Their absorbing take on ‘Stranger To Your Kind’ paints a Balearic sunset portrait with washes of dub synthesis and strange modulations, ethereal voices and a distantly ringing phone, recalling The Orb or KLF at their most chilled-out.

Phantasy transports back to 1982 for a faithful reissue of ‘Fools Are Friendly’ from Xclusiv. A secret, cosmic disco weapon featured in Erol Alkan’s DJ sets over the last year and now carefully remastered from the original tapes, we are delighted to present this irresistible gem of disco and soul. Long sought-after by record collectors, it’s now available once more on a limited-vinyl press and wherever you listen to music. The alias of sisters Karen and Maxine Berlinski, Xclusiv emerged from the London borough of Croydon, linking the suburbs with Soho’s neon-tinted nightlife. Originally self-released on Le Maitre Music, a record label spun-off from their family-run fireworks company, ‘Fools Are Friendly’ is a DIY delight, the Berlinski sisters vocals shining on glossy electronics, echoing the synth experiments of Giorgio Moroder or Didier Marouani, pioneers that were transforming pop music at the time. The powerful original mix offers delectable disco drama for DJs and dancers alike, while a contrasting instrumental lets the record’s melodies and arpeggios truly breathe. A must-hear for any enthusiast of British electronic music, ‘Fools are Friendly’ is now available to pre-order from the Phantasy shop and Bandcamp, with shipping anticipated in the coming weeks.
