Gosh! Our debut album, ‘What Does It Take To Make These Men Happy?’ is out today, and we are so happy to share our musical stories with you. It’s our recording diary, filled with all the things we love, the things we think about and the things we struggle with. Joining us on this beautiful journey are some good friends who helped make it all possible: Justin Strauss, K.BHTA, Casey Spooner, Lacquer, Michael Cignarale, Braulio Amado, Christian Trippe, and John and Dean from Some Pulp.
This is a compilation of songs that express our view of the world. We’re in the midst of so much happening in the world, and we are still compelled to wonder: What does it take to make these men happy? We’re not sure what the answer is, but we hope you have a great time listening and dancing while we try to figure it out.

Straight from Greece, Boys’ Shorts are bringing their signature dancefloor energy to RFDC. Formed by Vangelis and Tareq, the duo blends house, slow techno, disco and acid into a sound made for one thing only, making people dance.
With releases on labels like HE.SHE.THEY, Permanent Vacation and Live At Robert Johnson, plus remixes for names like Alison Goldfrapp, Poolside, Polo & Pan and Boy George, Boys’ Shorts have built a strong reputation across Europe and beyond. Their track “New Era” reached No1 on Beatport, while “Fantastic” received support from BBC Radio 1.
From Berghain / Panorama Bar to House of YES in NYC, Lost Village and WECANDANCE, the duo has been touring some of the world’s most iconic clubs and festivals, always delivering high-energy sets full of groove, emotion and unexpected twists.
And for us, this one feels extra special, Boys’ Shorts released the first two EPs on RFDC Records and we can’t wait to hear those originals and remixes hit the dancefloor tonight.

😈MECANIMAUX - Que faut-il pour rendre ces mecs heureux? 🗣️Story time:
“I met Casey back in 2009. As a massive Fischerspooner fan, I had the opportunity to open for them in my hometown, Thessaloníki.
Meeting him was a huge deal for me and his open and welcoming personality made me feel so lucky, leading to a friendship and various collaborations through the years.
In June 2018, I was in Paris working with Lacquer. another favourite of mine since his 2003 hit “Behind.” We were recording a track in French around the idea of “Mecanimaux,” a wordplay on the primal, predatory nature of men acting like robotic animals hunting for pleasure.🤗
I saw Casey was in town, so he came by the studio. It was a dream come true to introduce two of my musical idols and have them work together. It was surreal recording a duet with my idol, and It got even more surreal when fashion icon @michelle_elie stopped by the next day to record the “hey” ad-libs along with Lacquer. It was a beautiful studio experience, but the project stayed “in the drawer” for years because the timing never felt right for any of us.
A few years later, I introduced Casey to Vangelis in NYC. Since then, we’ve remixed Casey’s solo work and the iconic “Emerge,” hung out on many occasions, and even performed together. We knew he had to be part of the album!
While Vangelis and I were shortlisting tracks around the concept of “What does it take to make these men happy?”, I shared this project with him. We decided to refresh it and include it! We are so happy to finally have Casey and Lacquer on board and share this bop with you! It’s a total full-circle moment.
I’m sharing some moments from the time capsule so you can see how we got here.
