The queen of pumping basslines, @meilgaarden specializes in recovering lost classics from the turn of the millennium—spinning genre-spanning sets that ooze with ravey sensuality and a glistening synthetic sheen. Her sound harnesses the euphoric rush and futurist energy of ‘90s and early 2000s progressive house and trance, filtered through a stylish, distinctively modern lens. Swedish-born and New York City-based, Meilgaarden began DJing in Stockholm a decade ago before relocating to NYC in 2018, where she launched the beloved club night Sound Gymnastics, which became a staple at Mood Ring. Since then, she’s become a fixture in New York’s underground, regularly gracing the decks at Nowadays, BASEMENT, Public Records, and Elsewhere, while maintaining a devoted presence on The Lot Radio and serving as a resident at Callshop Radio in DĂŒsseldorf from 2020-2024. She also co-hosts the party Mister Sister, continuing to build community around her dynamic, dancefloor-focused vision. Her reach extends far beyond NYC—she’s played yuyu in Mexico City, Video Club in BogotĂĄ, Body Language in Berlin, Pacha in Ibiza, Club Are in London, Solstice Festival in Finland, and TrĂ€dgĂ„rden in Stockholm. In 2024, she released her official debut single on Sorry Records, complete with a remix from Chicago artist Ariel Zetina, and in 2025 contributed “Electrosecco (Cook It)” to Plot Records’ fundraiser VA alongside Eoin DJ, Audrey Danza, Mohajer, and Regularfantasy. With bouncy textures and nostalgic sensibilities, Meilgaarden delivers sets that feel both timelessly euphoric and urgently contemporary. We can’t wait! We’ll see y’all Saturday, March 7 at Riff City! Tickets available at the link in our bio.

Buddy Buddy resident Mutualism is opening the party on Saturday and will surely warm us up quickly! With a penchant for uplifting melodies, powerful percussion, and divalicious moments, @lilmissmutualism always takes the dancers on a wild ride. Sometimes it’s pretty; sometimes it’s pretty bonkers. And it’s always a party. This vinyl-obsessed girly’s been sharing her collection for more than 15 years and has gained a reputation as a DJ with a raw, anything-goes style, and an unparalleled party girl energy. Her sets give freedom, thrill, and tons of fun and have earned her bookings at many of her favorite clubs and parties around the world. We’ve been sharing dancefloors with Sherri for nearly 20 years. When we started Buddy Buddy, she was in our corner helping us in any way we needed. We’re so proud to call her a resident and dear friend. We’re excited to release the full recording of her set at our 6 year anniversary party, now up on our SoundCloud. We love you, Sherri!

As a Detroit native, @laurenflax was immersed in the freedom and sonic tapestry of the 90s Midwest rave era, cutting her teeth at legendary spots like Motor Lounge. After relocating to Brooklyn over two decades ago, she continues to bring that Midwest energy and diversity to her DJ and live sets, fusing cutting acid lines with the bounce of Chicago jack and Detroit grooves—a sound she describes as “jackin’ techno.” An in-demand DJ and producer with a storied 30-year career, Lauren’s extensive discography includes remixes and collaborations with Grammy-nominated artist Sia, Little Boots, and Tricky, plus a worldwide tour as a member of the successful trip-hop project CREEP. Her releases on The Bunker NY—where she’s a resident and Beyond Booking agency artist—Truncate’s WRKTRX, a split EP with Posthuman, and her 2022 Sweat EP on Super Rhythm Trax showcase her prowess with techno, house, acid, and electro, while her Out of Reality EP on 2MR dives into more melodic, emotive explorations. Named DJ Mag’s 2022 Underground Hero for her grassroots participation within the community, Lauren is the co-founder of Last Night a Deejay Saved My Life, a harm reduction organization providing overdose response training and free naloxone to the nightlife community. She’s also a fierce advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, abortion access, and civil rights—regularly putting her feet to the pavement alongside her work behind the decks. Currently, she can be found giving life to hedonistic dancefloors around the world, including regularly playing at House of Yes and The Good Room in Brooklyn, with tours throughout Europe, the UK, and South America. We’ll see you on dancefloor for our 7th anniversary party with Lauren Flax and @lilmissmutualism Saturday, December 6 at Riff City!

Analog Soul (identical twin sisters Jacquelyn and Kathryn Smith, aka @jacky_sommer and @djdatkat ) discovered their calling at an Eddie Amador residency in late ‘90s Los Angeles. “Life just finally made sense at that moment,” they recall of the transformative night that launched their dance music careers. Born in the San Francisco Bay area to artistic parents, they grew up immersed in new wave, hip hop, jazz legends like Miles Davis and Thelonious Monk, and electronic pioneers including Kraftwerk and Herbie Hancock. Jacky moved to New York City in 2001 for the Alvin Ailey School, quickly landing a job at the legendary DanceTracks record store where she became shop manager and music buyer, working alongside luminaries like Theo Parrish, Kenny Larkin, and Gilles Peterson. Datkat joined her a year later, and in 2004 they launched their weekly Analog Soul show on eastvillageradio.com, exploring “the deeper, darker side of techno and house” while exposing listeners to the full spectrum of underground electronic music with guests ranging from Function to Nina Kraviz. The twins have established themselves as tastemakers in NYC’s underground, playing legendary venues and earning international recognition with recent gigs at Honcho Campout, Panorama Bar, and Kaiko. Their deep, resonant sets bridge the post-Larry Levan house era with New York’s thriving new wave, built on decades of relentless record digging. Known for their genre-spanning approach and music-first ethos, @analog_soul_ continues to shape the city’s electronic landscape through monthly slots on The Lot Radio and residencies at venues like Nowadays, bringing connection and community to the dancefloor. We first danced to Analog Soul at Strange Allure in Buffalo back in 2018 or so, and we’re so excited to welcome them back! We’ll see you all on the dancefloor this Saturday at Riff City!

Fatherhood is the perfect union of @michaelmagnan and @fysicaltherapy —two New York stalwarts joined together to play a joyous high-energy take on house and techno. With decades of experience between the two, Fatherhood provides responsible selecting prowess and dance floor guidance. In 2011 the pair bonded over a love of the fun, bitchy and sometimes tasteless sounds of classic New York house music, and Fatherhood was formed. Since then the pair have held residencies at infamous parties like 11:11 and Club Shade, and played countless back to back sets. They have released records of colorful, unique dance music on London’s Batty Bass and Stockholm’s Study Records as well as appearing on Physical Therapy’s Allergy Season. In 2019 they curated and mixed “Bad Advice Vol. 1” a compilation for the legendary Nervous Records which commissioned modern producers to connect the dots between the dance music scenes of yesterday and today. Get ready for Buddy Buddy Pride! Saturday, June 21 at Duende. Tickets link in bio or visit buddybuddy.fun.
