This weekend is @londoncoffeefestival and for the first time in years, I’m gonna go along, meet some lovely people, learn some cool new shit and drink some world-class coffees.
This coincides nicely with the fact we are repping two of my favourite London roasters in the shop this month! @liftcoffeelondon + @campbellandsyme . And one new roaster from Manchester that may be very familiar to you👀 for their iconic coffee and dough paradise in the city @siop.tec
We’ve gone 3 for 3, meaning we’ve selected 3 coffees from each of them that we will bring to your filter, guest espresso and cold brew offering for the month. We’ve also picked coffees that are either Natural or Washed in an attempt to keep it ‘simple’ or ‘faithful’ before we lean into an inevitable summer of co-ferms and fun (think my pallet honestly just needed a brief pause for some clean, sweet and ultimately VERY DRINKABLE brews.
I’ll use the stories every morning as usual to highlight which coffee we’re onto, there’s plenty of retail as always and I look forward to drinking some delicious coffees from some very talented, intentional and expert roasters with you. Feel very luck to use this shop as a lab for such shared enjoyment purposes 🥰🐢

Visited the @manchester_ceramics_fair a few weeks back and bumped into some old friends / met some new ones that I thought you guys would love. Decided to fill our shelves with some beautiful cups to elevate your at-home coffee and tea preparation ❤️
We PROUDLY now stock @shaunmcgurdy@ericataylorlowceramics@ohpreciouscargo_ AND ofc @megbeamish on the shelves ~ these guys are all so talented, dedicated to their craft and genuinely just lovely people. I encourage you to follow their work and read up on their processes. We have picked an array of sizes to cater to different purposes, so it doesn’t all need to be shorter speciality measures when you just tryna drink a big mug of your ‘night-time-sleepy-something-or-other’. Hopefully there’s something here for everyone.

N.B. there’s no rhyme or reason to this playlist so feel free to shuffle. I approach curation like a boomer. No specific vibe, plenty of new & old music, lots of stuff I already know, but remembered again for the first time in a while, stick em all in your liked songs, cap em off at a random date and create an incohesive and strange atmosphere at a gathering like only a parent could 😂✌🏽

It’s gonna be a good one. It’s never not. As usual we got some gorgeous natural wines, amazing local beers on tap and some non-alc options too. There are no tickets here, just arriving early to get a great spot. Come along and don’t be afraid to get stuck in. After the music, the audience is always the biggest contribution to these nights, and you guys always bring such a brilliant atmosphere. We look forward to having it back 💋🎷🐢

Welcoming @kobeancoffeeroasters (Heaton Moor) + @cupperschoice (Sheffield) into the shop, onto the shelves and straight through the blades.
Since we last saw Kobe, he’s had a lil rebrand so the packs are looking fresh. Still sourcing rare and experimental micro-lots from the coolest producers around the world. Still can’t quite believe that we have the privilege of these coffees being roast just down the road tbh. You’ll find me in his shop most days I’m not in my own.
Current Guest Espresso is not to be missed. One of my fave coffees this year. Try it in literally any drink:

Cuppers Choice are Sheffields finest and most loved boys. They’ve been quietly leading the speciality scene in the North for as long as I can remember and it’s been a long time coming that we get them in the shop. They’re staunch in their mission to provide high grade, ethically and sustainably sourced coffees whilst using their business to support environmental protection, social justice and economic development in coffee-growing communities. Told you they were good boys.
Our current filter is such an easy drinker…almost too easy…and so going down very quickly:

Here’s some lovely drinks we’ll be serving throughout the warm weather!
~ 16 Hour Cold Brew | Made using our @toddycafe filter system. Currently using the Chorro Alto Papayo roast by @cupperschoice . An extended fermentation process that’s got it tasting like Pina Colada, Drumstick Lollies + Cotton Candy. But we’ll keep picking fun coffees that lean into the method.
~ Lemon & Ginger Tea Cooler | Ginger tea brew concentrate, a dash of lemonade, a slice of lemon and a sprig of lemon thyme from the herb garden. Does what it says. Very cooling.
~ Espresso & Tonic | My personal fave and the most genuinely refreshing coffee ever feels in my humble opinion. Using fever tree tonic, a slice of orange and an ever changing espresso line up, but thinking we’ll start with @kobeancoffeeroasters 72 hour advanced washed castillo by Nestor Lasso. This particular coffee has been a fave of mine this year. Tastes like blood orange, dark chocolate and maple.
~ Iced Rhubarb Matcha | featuring ceremonial grade greenery from the @matchaeologist and rhubarb we macerate over night before turning into a complete syrup. It’s a firm favourite.
~ For those who know, love and have already been secretly requesting it: we are also extending our Kyoto Fog AND cardamom bun latte the iced menu and they’re great that way.
