I've been working on finalizing designs and documation for v2 of the press. Until then have a teaser trailer! I designed extending rollers to help you feed and catch your press bed. And I optimized the design so you can make an 8" wide version on your standard prusa i3 and ender style printers.

New YouTube video! Random PSA, but if you have a bunch of silkscreens with haze, this franmar d haze is a miracle worker. I bought it for $25 on dick blick and I used half the bottle on 10 screens. Check out the full review on YouTube! Not sponsored in anyway, I was thought it was neat.

@someprintdude brought a litho stone to @zoecouvillion and I’s home last summer in Denton, and we collaboratively drew this image from a composition I had on my iPad from downtime at the retail job I was working my first 6-7 months in Texas. I started my contribution in the days leading up to flying up to Wisconsin for my in-person interview at UWPlatteville.
.
Printed by Nick in his home studio setup, Zoë and I picked up a portion of the edition on our drive up from Texas to Iowa.
Join us for a unique workshop! Visiting artist @someprintdude will lead a Japanese Stab Binding workshop this Wednesday, October 15th at 6:30 PM in CA Room 204. Learn this traditional bookbinding technique to create your own handmade book!

June 20 – September 27, 2025
At the conclusion of our exhibition, the Artspace would like to acknowledge our final round of guest curators of our September salon and cabinet walls, which were organized by artist educators. Exhibiting artists Laura Crehuet Berman, KCAI Professor of Printmaking, and exhibiting artist Nick Phan, KCAI Lecturer in Printmaking facilitated participation from the following students in the Printmaking department as September Cabinet Wall guest co-curators of the 2025 Kansas City Flatfile + Digitalfile.
Guest Curators:
Chel Adler
Allyson Carter
Beatrice Curry
Karter Jones
Olivia Overfield
Maddy Thurman
“Starting our curation, we took our time going through the drawers, looking at work. Once we found the first pieces we liked, a theme emerged. We started with a few photographs that worked as a pair. From there, we kept working in pairs of two, picking pieces that either had a pair within the piece, or we chose pieces that paired with each other. Because the first pieces we picked had a muted color scheme of oranges and blues, the rest of the pieces we picked stayed within that color scheme. We intentionally included the negative space necessary to let the quiet pieces shine and bounce off one another. The theme that emerges from these pieces is a feeling of nostalgia and resonance within our own lives. This was not necessarily intentional, yet because a lot of the work our class makes fits within these themes, we gravitated towards these pieces.”

I don't plug my YouTube too often, but I recently did some work fixing up some bad brayers at school. Check out my YouTube to see how I deal with sticky, swelled, and dried ink brayers.

A new collaborative litho on my new litho press design! It works a lot better than my past designs, delivering much better print quality and it is easier to use! Not to mention it folds up to take up about as much space as a microwave.
This print was from a stone I brought with me to Texas while I visited @ghost_in_a_wagon@zoecouvillion and we passed the stone around while we watched TV.

Are you interested in learning stone lithography? I will be leading a one week workshop through KCAI's Art + Design Labs. Join me July 7-12 from 1-4pm and I will help you produce fine art editions from your hands. Take advantage of KCAI's beautiful lithography studio while you learn to grain, draw, and print litho stones. Link in the bio or look for KCAI's Art + Design Labs.
