These 2 will be @itsthewaitingroom Opening March 20! Thanks to @zakgorsuch šŸ“ˆšŸ“ˆšŸ“ˆ Curated by Zak Gorsuch, Solutions: Strategic Review Survey transforms The Waiting Room into a four-week performative, televisual installation by creating a dynamic, sculptural office space inside of the gallery. Solutions acts as a collage of 20th century office workspaces where computer desks, filing cabinets, and the gallery's visitors are all situated within a closed-circuit surveillance system-artwork. Featured artists include Craig Deppen Auge ( @craigdeppenauge ), Jackson Daughety (@daughetyjack ), Piper Dorsey (@sculpturehater ), Zak Gorsuch (@zakgorsuch ), Leon McAllister (@leonkennedyburger ), and Cameron Sinclair (@cams1n ), each of whom often transcend the two-dimensional conventions of their respective mediums (collage, painting, video, etc.) to create sculptural works sourced from advertisements, commercial photography, and the internet. By crafting modular sculptures and collages displayed in precarious configurations, the artists reveal how the ordinary objects that furnish our workplaces can disrupt the separation between art production, exhibition, and public viewership. "I think the aesthetics of cultural hegemony are, for the most part, appealing. Whether they are characterized by legibility, an abundance of resources, or a notion of security, profit-motivated imagery frequently feels positive—if not like a celebration of wealth. Putting these images through a process that implies a level of authenticity and individual voice emphasizes how out of touch the messaging really is with the lives of most people." @daughetyjack To order an individual copy or subscribe to print + digital issues, visit the link in bio.āš”ļøā   Head over to visionaryartcollective.com/magazine for more info about our publication! ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ #art #artstagram #dailyart #painting #paintersofinstagram

Beneath The Spectacle closes January 17! The gallery is open 24/7 between now and then! Curated by @tiffanymeesha @petrichorprojectsmx Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen! Big projects are our specialty at Jackson Daughety Research PartnersĀ© ā€œBeneath the Spectacleā€ stages a taut exchange between Hailey Slaughter and Jackson Daughety, artists who track how images govern us and how bodies resist their grip. Daughety saturates the gallery with an arsenal of images. A curved mural, staged as a bank of surveillance monitors, arcs across the gallery wall painted in ā€œGo Awayā€ Disney green. Its surface accumulates exhausted emblems of wonder and belief—a washed-out Disney castle beneath dimmed fireworks, market stalls sagging with plastic saints. Nearby, collaged canvases mine the lexicon of gaming, militarism, and finance. Their authority is loud but brittle, eroding under the weight of repetition. Slaughter responds with a sculptural chorus. Figures wrapped in moss and wool shield their bodies yet resist disappearance. Her works breathe with a sense of habitation, part refuge, part monument. Materials marked as fragile—glass, ceramics, fibers—become vessels of memory and resilience, reasserting themselves as the ground of persistence. The figures, at once vulnerable and defiant, hold their place beneath the spectacle’s glare, refusing to be consumed by it. The exhibition thrives in this confrontation: spectacle pressing down from above, resilience rising from below. In the clash of image and form, identity is neither fixed nor erased but continually renegotiated amid the debris of culture’s spent icons. The Crossroads hotel is open 24/7.
