A who’s who of Someoddpilot Records artists, friends and collaborators, this is a group of musicians who have performed & written together for over two decades.
Most of them appear on the last remix compilation released on SOPR,
@salvobeta ‘s “evil vs. evil: the kids in the neighborhood pick up their bats and remix abrasive stuttering” in 2003. They are reunited here 23 years later, with more to come from each of them on future SOPR releases.
@thesanford Sanford Parker, who plays bass in
@black_cross_hotel , records and mixes most current SOPR music from a recording studio located in the old
@someoddpilot office on the north side of
@chicago , which, uncoincidentally, sits above a concrete bunker that serves as a rehearsal space for many of the artists on the label.
@distille.music has been in multiple bands with the label founder and members of
@stillmachine . both still machine and
@martialfields are one half of metal band Beak and The Timeout Drawer. And on and on. To say SOPR is a family affair is nearly an understatement.
What comes with years of friendship is an undeniable shorthand that hastens collaboration, love and most of all, fun.
