A special night celebrating the long awaited return of Boards of Canada — a night of deep cuts, aliases, remixes with special guests @posthumanmusic@bkbeats@djstriz , OGs of underground electronic music since the late 90’s.
Posthuman — UK acid house & techno veterans from Glasgow/London, founders of Seed Records and pioneers from Skam Records, label mates of Boards of Canada. Regarded as spearheads of the UK Acid House scene, they are residents & hosts of “I Love Acid” clubnight as well as running a vinyl only label of the same name.
DJ Warp (Brian Keigher) is a staple international and electronic music DJ playing at various clubs, venues, festivals in the USA and UK.
DJ Striz (Ben Stroh), Chicago-based DJ and co-founder of the Illmeasures Collective. He co-founded The Freakeasy Chicago underground party series and has supported artists like DJ Krush, Four Tet, Bonobo, Nightmares on Wax, Thievery Corporation, Nicolas Jaar just to name a few.

Persian Kamancheh master, Mehrnam Rastegari and her amazing band make their Chicago debut with an exciting Persian Music Salon event at Elastic Arts with special Chicago guest Farnaz Khosh-Sirat kicking things off with their setar and vocals. Vendors and more as well. Hosted by my partner for the night, Yasmin “Yasi” Zacaria Mikhaiel, Iranian-American cultural producer and multi-disciplinary artist who will also serve as Emcee for this lovely gathering. Presented with in partnership by People of Rhythm Productions and BIYA BIYA Productions with lots of love. I’m so excited about this event. I hope you Chicago music lovers will come and support this special program and offering and stand with the beautiful people of Iran while enjoying wonderful music, enjoying Persian teas, and arts and standing with community. TONIGHT at Constellation Chicago. Kick off night of the Mandala Makers Festival which I have the deep pleasure of producing. Three amazingly noted musicians on tour from India come together to share music from North and South Indian classical traditions and they will go deep on improvisation at a venue well known for it’s home to next level improvisation. A special melodic duet with percussion accompaniment is in store. If you are a sax or reed player you don’t want to miss Ashwin Shankar on the shehnai (son and student of the great Daya Shankar) and if you are a violinist or string player you do not want to miss VVS Murari on violin (son and student of the great VV Subrahmanyam) and if you are a drummer you will definitely not want to miss Sai Giridhar on mridangam. If you are a music lover, you won’t want to miss this program this evening. I hope to see you there.

The Ragamala Stage at Big Ears was a major achievement, the stage was beautiful, the artists were world class and the place was packed with a line out the door!

The 14th annual edition of the Ragamala festival returns to Chicago on Fri. Sept. 25 at the Chicago Cultural Center which is a free, 14 hour nonstop, all-night event kicking off the city’s annual World Music Festival. We hope to see you there.
