*cat blooper at the end 😹 Day 15 #fusionimprovchallenge with @elizabeth_khard & @elizabethkhard_creations 1/2 way through and still making discoveries. Tasks: Reverse & Mythical from @movelikeahuman & @ladyzora84 —thank you both!! This one really got me. I have a whole other improv and journal entry that came out of this one that I may or may not share. I filmed in the morning, but I had to wait for my migraine to go away to edit. There’s only one sword section where I reversed the video. The rest is me playing with how to reverse moves with my body.

Day 13: Closeup & Dreamy from @shira_ghertner & @mathilde_dances #fusionimprovchallenge with @elizabeth_khard & @elizabethkhard_creations (Song: Sailing the Solar Flares by Dirtwire) Dreamy is where I’ve lived most of my life. Despite hardships, despite the state of the world, I think it’s important to stay connected to dreams, both literal and figurative. They are full of inspiration and information. Where you are, where you want to be, and how to get there. Close up is harder for me. I love watching things closeup, but it’s hard for me to let people be close. Despite my tendency to share personal experiences immediately and the immediate intimacy of sharing on social media, it takes me years to be comfortable communicating my true needs. This video style I took from one of my favorite pole artists, who has a much fancier setup 😆 Check out @journaldupole older videos to see the close image/mirror image setup. My belly dance grew out of American Cabaret and Fusion roots, but Baladi has been calling my heart lately. I’ve been working on my baladi style and musicality for a couple months now with huge influences from Lubna Emam and @shahrzad_dancer_official I’ll be dancing this one again at the Anam Cara spring showcase May 16. Thanks @hakandances for this video! (I’ve also been working on this costume and it was lovely to finally dance in it!) Song is Baladi Safar by Armen Kusikian.
