Task 17: « spin » + « ritual » From: @alexandrashilling & @pia_apsara #fusionimprovchallenge by @elizabeth_khard & @elizabethkhard_creations Music by: @afrocelt.soundsystem I used to dance in this song when I was alone as a kid, to overcome my fear of the dark 💀 My friends must be laughing at me because they know I’m a very sceptical non-religious person, and they often hear me complain about New Age spirituality and esoterism, and yet 3 days in a row we had tasks related to spirituality! 🥲 So here I am, disguised as some ritualist from a fantasy land (but borrowing from indian patterns and sense of baddie fashion, as always 🙏). If it goes on with spiritual themes I might take a break because leaning into « magic »makes me uncomfortable at some point. I’ve seen many terrible acts committed in the name of « something greater », many of my friends were abused by so-called spiritual masters and I can’t help but believe that all answers are lies on this matter. In that way I do not want to inspire anyone to go look for an over-cloudy happiness (anything but therapy eh?) If god or smtg does exist, the path towards its light would probably be within each single one of us. So I’m glad this challenge is giving so many opportunities to take my treasure out for a dance ! This dress represents growing with massive depression from an early age to adulthood without the help of anyone. There are so many things you could have reached but your roots kept you stuck and frozen. You need to get rid of them so you can move on and it’s hard because it’s simply the most of you and your environment. They are beautiful and you love them but they will keep preventing you from moving on.
