Zeerust II, Visual Identity, Pt. 04 The lineup poster emerged through material and media exploration—a process as unexpected as the visual it birthed. Cryptic imagery and sweeping typeface, it intends to mirror the festival’s textures and narrative, a puzzle waiting to be unraveled. This poster took many iterations. It began with a hand-sculpted ‘Z’ logo, crafted from aluminium sheets, photographed against the bark of a tree—then transferred digitally, layered with a custom hand-drawn typeface on iPad. Finally, layered with a metal sculptural abstract woven tail, brought to life through generative AI, it became a fusion of the tangible and the imagined. Zeerust II, Visual Identity, Pt. 03 A shared thread between our spatial and visual design is the chain–inspired by chainmail armour, wrought-iron gates, and the intricate ways chains wove through medieval life. The wristbands intend to echo this motif, adding metaphorical weight to a simple piece of fabric. Beyond restraint, it symbolizes connection: every patron a link, bound in one unbroken chain.   This element was hand sketched, refined digitally on iPad and printed by our manufacturer on recycled woven bands.

Zeerust II, Visual Identity, Pt. 02 The site map for Z demanded a cartographic ode to the allure of fantasy and treasure maps. Inspired by The Writer’s Map (Huw Lewis-Jones), this piece intends to weave a narrative of discovery, breathing magic into the existing infrastructure. This site map took many iterations—hand-sketched, then refined digitally on iPad. Illustrated by me

Zeerust II, Visual Identity, Pt 01 World-building is the compass that informs everything Z. Inspired by Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities and Kay Neilson’s East of the Sun and West of the Moon, ZII delves deeper into our initial storyline: future-alien civilisation colliding with Earth, this chapter catapults forward beyond the meaning of future, crumbling into a new past - a dark age fantasy of dystopian opulence. This first visual introductory of the Zeerust Emblem took many iterations, beginning as a hand-drawn illustration-turned digital, made into a custom wax seal, pressed onto fine paper, and captured on camera.  Illustration + digital design by me Art direction + curation with @_r2.d2
