Starting with the limbs This creation begins with each dancer presenting themselves to the audience: each one, in turn, reveals their movements and their unique presence. We show ourselves, the audience sees us, and then we can move on to something else: moments of encounter between our bodies, encounters between our bodies in space, encounters between our bodies and structures. How do these encounters become supports ? How do imbalances structure movements? How do I use my "defective" arm to move with others? How do our physicalities change? These are some of the questions we explore in this creation, and I am very happy to answer them through dance, on stage. EXXY My right arm is always moving, dancing. That makes it remarkable. It hasn't been easy all these years. With Exxy, I have found a resilient family who has been through the same journey. In Exxy, my right arm is welcomed to dance, to move, to destroy order. An open door to catharsis, where I can balance all my rage and frustration of "not being enough." In this part of the play, my whole body desires to be like my right arm. Let the movement spread! Let the transformation begin!

Once again, we met to rehearsal and present "Starting with the limbs" in @hollanddancefestival ! We played in Amare in Den Hague at the beginning of February. In this creation, I like to explore the notion of "support" with my dance partners. There is a special intimacy between us. We are sure that the other is/are going to support us. And, in the other way, each one of us is aware and ready to support the other(s). We also dance with the structures, these interesting objects which can hold -support- our weight as if they were limbs of ours bodies. In the stage, all together -dancers, structure, wheelchair and crutch - we extend.  We played the same day of the "DanceAble Symposium." A lot of friends, others disabled dansers, came either to present their work or to assist to the event. We have met before in auditions, workshops or manifestations. It was great to meet them that night.  Some years ago, I was wandering : "Is anybody out there ? " Now, we are more and more present, taking the creatives places.

Sydney "Why are you in Australia ?" "I came to perform in Exxy, a play scheduled on the Sydney Festival in the Sydney Opera House." That was the reason. Australia seems far away, but, in fact, Exxy is full of Australia. The trip allowed me to feel the play in a different way. Performing is cool because each time you are a different person. Each time, you might see other meanings. Each time, you might have other sensations. During the Sydney week, as a group, we were in a complete state of joy : we met Dan's nan -who plays an important role in the play-, we visit the SOH in an exclusive tour, we tried to take a picture as if we were in the "Friends" introduction -fontain, but without umbrellas...- for only named a few. My cousin Jorge arrived in Sydney the day of the premiere ! He's making an exchange program with his university... and he was the first person of my family who saw Exxy ❤️ I continue to love being in my solitude, sometimes. Bondi Beach. Darling Harbour. Every morning, I walked from the Town Hall to Hyde Park, then I entered into the Botanical Garden and walked to the sea, continued to the left side, and there it was : Sydney Opera House.

Tasmania In the beginning, I wanted to visit Darwin and North Australia. But January was not the good season for that plan, so - I don't remember exactly why or how- I took a tour to explore Tasmania. It was an excellent choice : we started at Hobart, went to the wild west side, passed by Launceston, and came back to Hobart. Each one of the hikes was extraordinary. Nature was extremely powerful, beautiful... it was everything !!! Montezuma Falls 4-5. Henty Sand Dunes 6. Our super group in a beach in the west side (don't remember the name...oups) 7-8. Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake 9-15. Wineglass in Freycinet Natural Park (my favorite hike and place during the trip 🥰) 16. Shelly Point 17. The most southern sea where I have been 18-19. An Australian Barbie 20. What being in the tour van was like I made this tour with @underdownundertours recommend it !

Adelaide In "Exxy" Adelaide, the big city, is named. As I was in Australia, which is the other side of the word for me, I decided to explore the capital of South Australia : pur love, fun, and surprises ! I walked, I walked, I walked. I took the train. I get lost. I recognized people in the street. Adelaide is such eclectic ! You can go to a National Park in the morning, meet some kangaroo and koalas and then go the refreshing beach to see the sunset ! You can do a delicious wine testing (Barosaa Valley, for me) and then visit a museum (oups...). It was wonderful ! 1. Torrent river 2. Mount Lofty 3. Kangaroo 4. Koalas ❤️ 5. Saltbush : resilient Australian plant and our partner in Exxy ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ 6-7. Adelaide Botanical Garden 8. Wine tasting in Barossa Valley (Yalumba house, Australia oldest Winery) 9. A wallaby just at the beginning of my Belair National Park trekking 10-12. Belair National Park 13-16. Brigthon Beach, South Australia (no UK !)

When I was contacted to join SWTL, I was in London auditioning for Exxy, a Dan Daw Creative projet. When I applied, I thought, ‘Oh! This is crazy! A big international tour! That would be so, so great!’ I didn't think I would be chosen. Now I'm part of this wonderful project! I spent almost three months in the UK for the creation and the touring of this beautiful and colossal project! It's not easy to put this gift of life into words... The subject of the play is intimate: how can you not feel like an impostor when society doesn't value you? As a crip person, how can you not ask yourself this question? It hits me right in the face with my personal history and the transformations that followed my accident (11 years ago already!). Exxy transforms these wounds into dynamic rage. Exxy celebrates us.  I am unable to construct intelligible sentences to express what this project means to me.  Walking on a knife edge. Circles. Repetition. Again. Running. Escape. Pain. Injury. Drool. Balls. Hard. Vulnerability. Risk. Rage. Obstinacy. Faking hard. Heart beating. More running. Recognizing. Laugh. Martha. Time to be real. Cappuccino with oat milk. Playground. Team. Saltbush. Gratitude.    With Exxy, everything just get easier <3. Soon we will be playing Exxy at the Sydney Opera House. We will do it again, better, more, with the power of love. Cercles. Répétitions. Encore. Courir. Fuir. Bave. Balles. Dureté. Vulnérabilité. Risque. Rage. Cœur qui bat. Courir encore. Reconnaître. Rire. Martha. Time to be real. Cappuccino au lait d'avoine. Terrain de jeu.Équipe. Saltbush. Gratitude.
