Sri Lanka, you’re up next. On 16 January 2026, we’re back with our local family @snafuproject taking over cultural hub, @theotherroom.cmb with a serious lineup. Taking the decks are: @ahadadreamx : Is bringing full-force, percussion-driven club energy. @da_ya_ja : Paris born/Sri Lanka based Dayaja is a producer and decade long selector carefully navigating hip hop trip hop, dub and more abstract sounds mixed with breakbeat, ukg and dubstep. @mypandashallfly : Lighting up the floor with 140bpm/UK bass, club-leaning electronics. @__vindya : Will be dropping soulful, driving techno built for late nights. The nomadic existence continues as SNAFU returns to the @theotherroom.cmb for the third edition of our off-site series, SITUATION NORMAL. We are excited to have special guest @kahli_theselecta on-board for the night as she joins forces with our very own @sunara.music for a two-hour, back-to-back DJ set. On Saturday, July 5, SNAFU returns to the Other Room, Colombo for Situation Normal 002. Featuring live performances and extended DJ sets on our crisp @voidacoustics sound system. Headlining the evening is @thisdoesnotapply (N/A), an electronic live act by long-time collaborators @nigelpereralk and @asvajit , presenting the duo's original music through hardware-based sets across genres ranging from dub and breaks to house and techno. Joining them are SNAFU residents @sunara.music , and @sweemu6 , plus special guest @kudupattam from the @thisissickleave crew. Expect a night of tight rhythms, varied styles, and a showcase of local electronic creativity. On Friday the 25th of April, the SNAFU crew will be taking over @theotherroom.cmb for SITUATION NORMAL 001, an all night, dance-floor focused event series away from home that will have to tide us over until we are able to secure a permanent space for @snafuproject . Join us for a night of bad-ass music delivered on our very own @voidcoustics sound system. Leading the charge at the first edition is Cracklepop (@cracklepopadventures ), a live electronic music act made up of Sweetie (@sweemu6 ), Geve (@geve_human ) and a number of whimsical noise making machines. Together they explore the endless possibilities of beat making, bass grooving, plush cushioning and quirky banter for the dance floor and beyond inspired by the sounds of house, breaks, boom bap and a healthy serving of dub. Join Prasad Hettiarachchi’s (@prasad_hettiarachch ) exhibition tour mapping urban Colombo, attending to lively details of neighborhoods, visual culture, port infrastructure, colonial architecture, and failed master plans through his latest series Cloud Messengers. For over a decade Prasad Hettiarachchi has reflected on development narratives of urban colombo, especially through allegorical visual sequences which meditate on mega infrastructure projects, debt, class struggle, post-war displacement and the prolonged impact of colonial legacy. Trained in conservation and archeology, his painterly approach is inspired by Buddhist cosmology and miniature painting. The most recent installations use found material including elements deployed in construction sites to mark areas that are ‘out of bounds’. Given recent economic and political challenges in the country, the installations and drawings in Cloud Messengers invite audiences to engage with subjects such as state corruption and impunity, China’s dominance over the island’s ports and harbour as well as India’s growing geopolitical influence as a corporate power.
