I’m not the best at sharing my work on here, but I’ve decided to be a bit more active and start posting some of my favourite projects from the past, alongside sharing more work as it unfolds across 2026.
This first project is an excerpt from a web documentary set in Alice Springs, which I shot and edited in early 2023. In late January 2023, journalists
@jhanra , Angira Bharadwaj and I spent over a week in Alice Springs trying to gain a clearer understanding of the challenges facing the town.
One of the big learnings from working on this project was just how long and complex the road ahead is — particularly when it comes to the challenges facing young people, Indigenous youth in Alice Springs and the remote communities surrounding. I did note that a new Mayor, Asta Hill, was elected last year and seems like the right person to try and drive positive change from the ground up.
One of the most powerful organisations we met was
@pertame_school - The Pertame School is a community-led language revival program growing the next generation of Pertame speakers. If you ever feel the need to donate to a genuinely good cause, this is it — raising children as full Pertame people within their language, culture and knowledge systems, nurtured by a connected community support network.
I loved every part of working on this project and wanted to share this particular scene featuring Arrernte and Anmatjere Elder, Auntie Pat Ansell Dodds — a long-respected figure within Central Australian communities and beyond.
From a production point of view, this was a classic run-and-gun shoot. I shot the project solo on a C70 rig with Canon EF L-series glass, capturing audio and drone footage myself. The approach was to cover scenes in a way that let the edit feel multi-camera, despite it being a single-operator setup.
