A decade ago, we handed over the keys to the Francis Crick Institute in King's Cross, London.
Since then, scientists and researchers at the Institute have made discoveries that have changed the world.
Fittingly, we undertook a huge amount of research to deliver the project with certainty. We modelled and analysed numerous scenarios associated with the incredibly stringent vibration criteria; the spatial and electromagnetic compatibility of MEP and research equipment; and the requirements for a system to recirculate a vast 430m3 per second of fresh air.
We also manufactured more than 2,000 pipework sections and more than 5,000 precast components (including the world’s largest offsite manufactured stainless-steel reinforced plunge columns).
Our work has helped scientists to make breakthroughs in their field. To read more about the Francis Crick Institute, head to our website.

How do you deliver clean, reliable and secure nuclear energy safely at scale and speed?
That’s just one of the many conversations we’re having with people here at the @womeininnuclearuk Conference in Birmingham today.
Laing O’Rourke is bringing industrialised construction to the delivery of our major nuclear infrastructure. Powered by our experience we are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in service of humanity to deliver certainty to big and complex critical infrastructure like Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.
To do that, we need more people and more people from diverse backgrounds to inject fresh ideas and fresh thinking. If you’re at the conference, come and chat to our Sector Lead Adam Locke and our Programme Director Sarah Williamson.

We recently welcomed our client for the new Sussex Cancer Centre project, @uhsussex , to our Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction (CEMC) in Nottinghamshire.
They were given a tour of the facility where they were shown how digital design and our offsite manufacturing approach would enable faster, safer and more efficient outcomes for their project.
Having already delivered Brighton 3Ts phase one, we’ll use the same methods to deliver phase two (Sussex Cancer Centre) in the tight footprint of Brighton.
The team also saw a full mock-up of the new cancer centre façade for the first time, bringing the design to life and illustrating the benefits modern methods of construction brings to product quality.
Hear from Roy Evans, Director of Capital Development & Property at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, and Jonathan Steele, Interim Associate Director for Strategic Capital, as they share their reflections on the visit.

Our recent participation in another successful NT Defence Week is another example of our long-standing commitment to supporting Defence capability and local communities in the Northern Territory.
Looking back at the works we delivered under the Larrakeyah Defence Precinct Redevelopment Program in Darwin, in partnership with Defence Australia, we proudly delivered critical upgrades to the infrastructure and increased capability of the Precinct.
The Precinct, comprising of Larrakeyah Barracks and HMAS Coonawarra, is a strategically critical location from which military operations are mounted, deployed, and sustained, and serves as Australia’s gateway to the Indo-Pacific.
During delivery, our commitment to leveraging unique local capability and knowledge was reflected in the large, positive impact on the community, via one of the largest active construction projects in the Northern Territory. We’re very proud that a high percentage of the works packages were delivered by local businesses: $286 million was invested in trade contracts to NT businesses, and $23 million invested in trade contracts to NT Indigenous businesses.
Our people are committed to maintaining established local relationships that enable us to deliver current project commitments in the region, contributing to conversations through industry forums that bring together stakeholders and encourage dialogue that helps shape the future of Defence capability in Australia.
From delivery on the ground to active participation in industry dialogue, our commitment to Defence and the Northern Territory remains strong – grounded in experience, driven by partnership and focused on what’s next.

10 years ago, our cancer care journey reached a major milestone with the handover of the £160 million Cancer Centre at Guy’s Hospital to the Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
Delivered in 2016, the centre was designed around patients and clinicians, bringing together research, treatment and care under one roof. It marked not just the completion of a complex project, but the beginning of a long‑term commitment to transforming cancer care environments.
Fast forward to 2020, and we were proud to complete the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre for @cccnhs Renowned as the flagship hospital in Liverpool, it delivers a wide range of highly-specialist care, including pioneering radiotherapy and cancer treatment for the region.
Today, that journey continues as we work on site at the Sussex Cancer Centre for University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, building on more than a decade of learning, innovation and collaboration with NHS partners, clinicians and supply chain teams.
Each project has reinforced the same reality: cancer centres are about far more than buildings. They’re about creating holistic care, healing environments, supporting cutting‑edge treatment and ultimately improving outcomes for patients, their families and staff.
As we mark this anniversary, we reflect with pride on our impact in cancer care and, driven by our purpose, will continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible in service of humanity.

We have secured a place on National Grid’s new Qualifying Utilities Dynamic Market Framework for substation construction and upgrades.
This framework supports one of the UK’s largest upcoming pipelines of electricity substation investment, helping to accelerate the delivery of critical energy infrastructure.
We’ve been appointed across all three workstreams; Engineer Procure and Construct (EPC) delivery, M&E installation, and major civils, reflecting our integrated capability across design, engineering and construction,
We’ll be in line to deliver turnkey EPC substation schemes on live 400kV transmission sites, as well as smaller substation upgrades and extensions.
Our Nuclear and Green Energy Sector Leader, Adam Locke, said: “This is a fantastic appointment in one of our priority sectors and with a repeat client. Being the only contractor awarded a place on all three workstreams is a testament to the work our teams are delivering.”

A lift like this doesn’t just happen.
More than 1,000 tonnes of curved beams, installed above one of Melbourne’s busiest freeways, but the real story is everything behind the scenes.
Years of planning. Thousands of decisions. Every detail checked and rechecked.
From design and temporary works to safety, engineering, logistics and crews on the ground, hundreds of people played a role in making this happen.
Because when the moment came, there was no room for error. Every crane movement choreographed with precision.
One moment. Years of experience behind it.
Precision. Coordination. A team delivering exactly as planned.
A huge effort by everyone involved on the Eastern Burke to Tram Alliance in Melbourne.

Working in partnership with Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, we put clinicians at the heart of the design process for the new hospital. Using our immersive suite, clinical teams were involved every step of the way, co‑designing hospital rooms at full scale and in real time. So instead of interpreting drawings on paper, stakeholders could step into the space, see how it really works, and shape decisions with confidence.
Beds were rolled in to test the space and identify obstructions. Power and equipment locations were checked on the spot. Feedback was immediate, practical and informed by real clinical use. This approach ensures we are helping deliver safe and effective care by reducing risk, improving functionality and ensuring environments are designed around those who use them every day.
It’s this focus on real‑world outcomes that makes our projects meaningful, and our roles rewarding. If you're interested in shaping the future of healthcare environments, check out our careers page: /careers/

We’re making strong progress at The Ellison Institute of Technology Oxford, with the installation of the precast concrete curved spandrels now well underway.
These striking façade elements are a key architectural feature of the building. Each unit weighs up to 9.5 tonnes and requires meticulous planning, close coordination and precision lifting to safely position and fix into place.
A total of 21 spandrel units are being installed across the east and south side of Littlemore House.
A big well done to everyone involved.
