My first time to Italy thanks to working with The Ocean Race doing hair & makeup for Bailey Bass. Managed a few hours to walk through Genova which was a real mixed bag of feelings and aesthetics. And yes, I found the antique market - those who know… Ate nothing but bread/pasta based food for 3 days - but at least they know how to make it good. Probs ate an entire loaf’s worth of bruschetta on the team dinner and it was worth it. Met an incredible and all round very lovely team of people who make @theoceanrace function. And incredibly inspiring talks from a youth panel passionate about ocean and climate conservation. Grateful for opportunities for travel for work (it’s not my norm) but always welcome more! Starting a series where I’ll wear different natural mascaras so that you can see how each one really looks on lashes. First up is @kosas Soulgazer mascara which is the newest addition to my kit. I loved their first mascara and am so happy that they have a new and improved version - it’s very different to the first The Big Clean. I prefer how it applies with a regular shaped spoolie - but some might like the bulb ended brush. It is a deep, sheeny black finish and I like that it dries quickly but not so fast that you can’t work over it with a 2nd coat or more if you like. For a natural mascara it has really good staying power. I fortunately don’t struggle much with smudging generally, but it definitely will withstand some water works and perspiration and does not flake. I think it rivals the best on the natural mascara market for sure. Great for sensitive eyes, definitely free from all the worst culprits like fragrance, parabens etc, but also from silicones which makes it a great more natural choice. #naturalmascara #naturalmakeup #motd #mascaraoftheday #cleanbeauty

2016 - Wow - 10 years have gone by in a flash ⚡️ Let’s just say I didn’t realise it was so eventful 1. @contentbeauty days with the launch of @rmsbeauty #mastermixer - I was obsessed with the glow 2. My bestie @jasminehemsley had a cafe in @theofficialselfridges 3. Gave a few makeup masterclasses at the original @glasshousesalon 4. Tried on outfits for the Versailles Ball (did not go & was too tall for all the period costumes) 5. Scoured Paris with my French connection @be.the.boat who has a PhD in French Art History - this makes for very handy running commentary 6. Discovered & fell in love with @officine_universelle_buly - bought the most expensive toothpaste to date. 7. Because 2016 filters! 8. Became British 🇬🇧 9. Immediately flew to Spain 🇪🇸 10. Made a Hemsley Birthday cake for @florence 11. Said goodbye to 4 yrs of blonde 12. Grew boy #2 13. Pregnancy lips I would now pay good money for 14. Still officially owned a store in Cape Town 15. Was already obsessed with @twelvebeauty 16. Started working with my favourite client @ella.mills__ on her Neal’s Yard collab That was fun. #2016
