“@whole.festival is wild and euphoric, but it’s also incredibly tender," says photographer @simonstepniak , "You’ll see friends hugging during ambient sets just steps from someone going feral to hardcore techno.”
Outside of Berlin's usual club circuit, the festival is set against the post-industrial playground of Ferropolis – a hulking former coal mine turned rave site.
With a line-up including BADSISTA, Ahadadream and Blasha & Allatt, this year’s festival-goers stomped through marshy terrain between five distinct stages. Stępniak's images for Dazed reflect that range – with shots of blurry, sweaty figures in various states of release.

Back in my Folsom era.
It’s been a while — I’ve changed a bit, but the core is still there. More or less.
Three months, maybe one or two seasons since these pictures were taken.
In the meantime: two new scars, a move to Paris, and a few exciting projects.
Visited Paris Photo for the first time.
Romantic status unchanged — somewhere on the single spectrum.
Now searching for a new place in Paris. Still accommodating, still in between.
It feels like a big shift — exciting, unfamiliar, but grounding in a good way.
