We thought to share our Top 10 Tips for Creative Entrepreneurs as we continue into the penultimate month of the year, a perfect moment to lightly pause, reset, and refocus our creativity. Whether you’re a designer, maker, or craft lover, these 10 tips are here to remind you to stay consistent, collaborate with purpose, and care for your wellbeing as you grow. 💡Collaborate often, there’s power in community. 🌿 Protect your health and mind burnout helps no one. 🧶 Put your work out there, share it before it feels “perfect.” 🔁 Stay consistent, small steps lead to big results. 💫 Keep creating, even on quiet days. Let’s close out the year with intention, creativity, and care. What’s one habit you’re focusing on this month to stay inspired? 👇🏾 Credits-------------- Creative and Production Agency: OYATO @oyato.agency Director / Producer : Yemi Alade @yemioyato 2nd Cam Operator: Baran Çırakoğlu @barancirakoglu Post Producer: Sarah Rogan Editor: Yemi Alade @yemioyato Assistant Editor / Colorist: Moritz Oskar Meyer @moritzoskarmeyer Sound Mix: Hanna Lindgren #BlackGirlKnitClub #founderjourney CreativeEntrepreneurs BlackMakers CreativeWellness CommunityOverCompetition StayInspired NovemberEnergy

A lovely weekend experience at @friezeofficial thanks to @deutschebank and @mewe360 after winning our #dbace @deutschebank award this year. @blackgirlknitclub were given a wealth lounge invite and tour of the show alongside other winners and our cohort. My first time attending. Especially loved the work represented by a gallery from Dakar @selebe_yoon #echoesinthepresent and the work of #laurenhalsey soo inspiring. The knits, prints, weaves and textiles 💞 #friezelondonartfair #frieze #freizeartfair

Kente festival - Agotime 🇬🇭 My first weekend in Ghana this summer, I had the chance to attend the Agotime kente festival in the Volta region and also did some weaving thanks to @waastudiogh on the most intricate loom. I actually learnt how to weave on my degree. 🧶 💫 My @csm_news dissertation as a student was actually looking at whether 21st century interpretations of kente still hold their traditional meaning.. I was obsessed with creating kente inspired knits through patterns. So good to reconnect with weaving as a knitter. Kente cloth dating back to the 19th century in Ghana is the perfect example of design, colour, symbolism and storytelling..I still use the cloth samples in my colour lectures today with my2nd year textile students 💫 So inspired by this festival and connecting to my ewe routes - weaving traditions.. #crafting #weaving #kente #ghana #agotime #agotimekpetoekente #knitting #bgkc #voltaregion

Reflecting this evening on my time in Ghana this summer visiting family and connecting with so many amazing creatives doing work on the continent 🇬🇭 Thankful to @waastudiogh for making me feel so at home in their studio, inviting me to my first kente festival in the Volta region and including our @quartobooksuk @blackgirlknitclub book to their collection in the library..also getting a behind the scenes insight to their current work on asafo flags. Then meeting the amazing designers from South Africa on an evening out @klnmuis & @kmorojele and being invited to take part in a research workshop in kantamanto market with @berendjewillemina - involving me knitting, creating my own yarn and co- creating T-shirt designs alongside the makers in the market…a moment of serendipity💫 Then meeting @kdboison and learning more about the amazing work of @therevival.earth and the community in the market 🙏🏿 There is a fast rhythm to kantamanto market when you first enter that is at first overwhelming but a beauty in how people work and move through the space ~ makes you surrender to their process 🧶 Having a long catch up whilst knitting with the founder of @msatkinsoninteriors Reconnecting with @itsjaninebtw & @addai_davis 🖤 So many creative minds and ideas aligning through sharing stories. Very excited to do more work back home in Ghana - a sign 💫 #ghana #kantamanto #knitting #upcycling #bgkc #kente #accra #asafoflags #community

The official images, 3 weeks ago today @blackgirlknitclub won the @deutschebank creative award with @mewe360 . With an award ceremony at the bank with our close family and friends attending 💫 Out of 500 applicants we won the top 5 award. Very proud of us as and the team, there is so much planning and prep behind the scenes, so to be recognised by the judges is everything 🙏🏿 last minute we weren’t too sure if we made the list that night! @kings_art for always capturing all of our imagery and @shereearobinson always ready for every workshop 🧶 I think younger Sicgmone would be proud 😊 and for my students to see the potential of textiles - so much work to do but we are ready!! “Move before you are ready “ 💫 📸 @mari.photographer_ #knitting #bgkc #mewe360 #deutschebank

We won!! 🏆✨ We’re elated to share that Black Girl Knit Club has been awarded the Deutsche Bank Creative Entrepreneur Award 🎉 — and we’re still soaking it all in! It’s such a privilege to be recognised for our work, and we’re beyond grateful to our friends, family, and incredible community for riding with us since we began in 2019. Through every round of pitching, we showed up for each other — and that love and commitment truly shone through. We’re excited to continue our journey with @mewe360 and DBACE as we grow, scale, and spotlight even more underrepresented makers in craft. We remain rooted in our mission to gather, unite and empower Black women through creativity. 🧶✨ Thank you to all who have supported us — and huge congrats to the other finalists and winners. You inspire us! 🙌🏾💫 #BlackGirlKnitClub #DBACE2025 #CreativeEntrepreneur #WomenInCraft #BlackMakersMatter #knittingcommunity

Young kings 👑🖤🧶 Throwback to last Saturday, and meeting this lovely young boy and his mum @mentivity . He had such a curiosity to learn at 7 years old practiced the stitches with me over again and asked me so boys can knit too! There is a power in allowing young people to explore with materials, make mistakes and connect with others. According to the boys it was 10/10 🤣🙌🏿 Really want to do more workshops with young boys especially this year. As a maker, I know it can be transformative 🖤 There was a safe space created in mentivity house and a power in seeing themselves reflected on the walls. May the sky be the limit for them💫 @workspa what a beautiful curated well being day! #knitting #boyswhoknit #mentivity #workspa #crafting #conversations

Beautiful knitted moments captured at @mentivity X @workspa well being day over the weekend for their young people - whilst the sun was shining! It was so lovely to meet all the young people, eager to learn, talk, knit and feel inspired. Craft always has the power to bring people together and I got to share a bit of my story as a knitwear designer, academic and co-founder of @blackgirlknitclub A pleasure to meet the founder @sayceholmeslewis what an amazing space you have created for these young people in the community 🙏🏿 Thanks for having me @workspa . #workspa #mentivity #knitting #craftingconversations #blackgirlknits #wellbeing #craft

The week so far, because apparently I need to post less on my stories and more on my page. Belated knit in public day, knitting outside deutsche bank @blackgirlknitclub after our pitch for @mewe360 we made the top10- fingerscrossed. Getting to see my students final year degree show @csm_ba_textile_design , taught both of them on foundation. Experiencing @workspa @soulsoundjourneys soundbath morning session in the clouds and a great affirmation reminder. Seeing hints of orange knits and textures everywhere 🧶 #mewe360 #knitting #crafting #csm#knitinpublicday #summertime
