Saturday at the Sibling Arts Festival in Shoreditch feels like a day I’ll carry with me for a long time. For the first time, we shared In The Making - a film born from the energy, curiosity, and voices of the Transition Network International Youth Circle, a movement I’ve been part of for almost a year: a grassroots community of organisers, ACTionists, and rebels! 🎞️
Watching it flicker across the big screen, knowing it was captured on our phones and lovingly shaped by my brilliant pal and creative wizard,
@gina_umneyey , was nothing short of magic. ✨
What does it mean to be young in a world that’s rapidly changing?
What hopes, strengths, and struggles shape the lives of those daring to imagine a better future? And what stands in the way of turning passion into leadership, action, and intergenerational connection?
In the Making moves into these questions, following young people across the UK as they carve their own paths toward change. It celebrates the energy, resilience, and vision of youth - and shows how that power, when met with the right support, can spark movements, transform communities, and help shape a more just and interconnected world. 🌀
After the screening, we stepped into a Milling workshop inspired by Joanna Macy. There was something tender about that moment - strangers and friends reflecting together, sharing fragments of their own hopes and challenges, and imagining what could be possible. It reminded me why storytelling matters, why conversation matters, and why creating together matters: these small sparks can grow into meaningful action. 🦑
It was also a treat to catch up with fellow Transition folk, see people who feature in the film, and marvel at
@rootsmanrak ’s pedal-powered Henry Hoover sound system in 3D! 🥰
I am sooo grateful - to Transition Together, the Siblings Arts Festival, and every single person who came, listened, reflected, and shared. This is just the beginning. Here’s to more stories, more conversation, and more ways to celebrate the energy and power of youth. 💫
