FLY AWAY MUSIC VIDEO. OUT AT MIDNIGHT💜
This 47-second-long continuous one-shot, conceived and coordinated by our fearless director @filmsbynettie , included all 50-some people we had on set to make it happen. Our cinematographer @raphael_edwards brought on @shot.by.malcolm , an extremely skilled Steadicam Operator from NYC, to execute this shot. Our incredible gaffer, @malloryholst , had spent the past month and a half planning the lighting schematic to make sure every corner on this one-shot was properly lit, and she executed it perfectly with the help of the rest of the lighting team (Key Grip: @max_tanzer , Best Boy Grip: @claiire.kkim , Best Boy Electric: @coleporium , Grip: @elliewpink , @taylormsteele_ ). Our production designers @grace__roden and @jillrosadino with the help of their set dressing team (@jordan_aschenbach , @annabellecotton , @nneoma.xo ) did a brilliant job designing and dressing every inch of the set to make this one-shot possible and visually stunning. Our directing team @filmsbynettie , @jamesjcherico , and @fieldmasc expertly placed and directed all of the cast and background actors while @raphael_edwards , @andurukim , and @oscarsoucy ran focus remotely and watched the monitor as we did take after take until it was perfect. Met Malcolm in May 2024 shooting a quick insert in the Village. He said he made videos, I said I wanted to — he said we should. By July, we’re in a Williamsburg cafe, belligerently making this crazy pitch, while he just smirked… already plotting. A few meetings later, Simo (aka SHERM) joined. The dream team was born.
Each session redefining my definition of dedication. I learned what it really takes to bring a vision to life — the craft, the patience, the obsession. As the team grew, so did our potential. Everyone who jumped in elevated it. On set, it was nothing but hard work, raw talent, and an energy that glued us all together.
After a year of fighting distributors and automated replies … it’s finally here. Couldn’t ask for a better team, a better set, or a better outcome. It truly takes a village, and I’m so grateful for mine.
