Because pretending it isn’t branded doesn’t fool anyone. We teamed up with @essence and @masood to create a mockumentary-style reality format for Shop ESSENCE Live x @ultabeauty , inspired by the greats like @abbottelemabc and other storied IPs. Built around the sister dynamic between @kelawalker and @jossiie2o , intentionally self-aware— making the brand part of the premise and inviting the audience into it instead of talking at them. Met Malcolm in May 2024 shooting a quick insert in the Village. He said he made videos, I said I wanted to — he said we should. By July, we’re in a Williamsburg cafe, belligerently making this crazy pitch, while he just smirked… already plotting. A few meetings later, Simo (aka SHERM) joined. The dream team was born. Each session redefining my definition of dedication. I learned what it really takes to bring a vision to life — the craft, the patience, the obsession. As the team grew, so did our potential. Everyone who jumped in elevated it. On set, it was nothing but hard work, raw talent, and an energy that glued us all together. After a year of fighting distributors and automated replies … it’s finally here. Couldn’t ask for a better team, a better set, or a better outcome.
