SOME ARCHIVES OF THIS WINTER 2025/2026 with two collectives shows and some material research 🤍 First «The tuning of the afterworld» curated by @fanny.testas at Brasserie Atlas. We have shown «WARM SPRING 92, script», a sound installation. (Exhibition supported by @federation_wallonie_bruxelles ) Then «Fragments from nowhere» curated by @comiteinformel , @honorinepardon , @mathzigante , @camlvd at Studio City Gate. We have shown our piece «Echoes in my fire walk (cryptobiosis)». At last, some research for a show curated by @insguf at @spasss_bxl (opening tomorrow 08/04). We have started work on a new series of objects called «Something we might have seen in the 80’s, ashes ball model». Let’s meet in the future of 2026 for a studio visit at @atelier_bardaf ☕️

Shift Entity vs Alicja Kwade, a conversation on shifting realities. Shift Entity, the united practice of Axelle Devaux and PC Malet, moves across writing, installation, fiction and sensory experience. Rooted in shared research and extended collaborative networks, their work constructs speculative spaces that feel both familiar and slightly out of joint. After visiting Alicja Kwade’s Dusty Die at M Leuven together, we spoke about some topics both this exhibition and Shift Entity’s work tackle: beginnings, layered realities, memory, collaboration and the quiet ways perception can shift. We would be happy to see you pass by! “𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘮 𝘚𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 92 is an exhibition by Shift Entity in collaboration with Tatiana Vejic and Max Denis, blending narrative, installation, painting, and scent. Drawing on Donna Haraway’s concept of the thick present, which suggests that past, present, and future are intrinsically linked and coexist not in a linear progression but in a deeply intertwined way, Shift Entity constructs a narrative in which immortality, or rather the survival of species, depends neither on transhumanism, speciesism, nor the quest for eternal youth. Instead, survival occurs through a complete surrender of the body, via hybridisation with the environment and beyond. Shift Entity rewrites, using the words of Ariel Kyrou, a philofiction that imagines many alternative and co-existing realities. 𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘮 𝘚𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 92 is not only a layered narrative, but it is an invitation for the visitor to reflect on the past, present and potential futures. The project’s narrative moves closer to a future in the Symbiocene era. Theorised by Glenn Albrecht, the Symbiocene sees mankind evolving in a quest for harmony with the living world through cooperation and interconnection, abandoning the dynamics of species domination and exploitation of nature. Technology in the Symbiocene era would, for example, be rethought with a view to collaboration and the transmission of knowledge through open-source technologies. On June 12th, Komplot is opening the exhibition 𝙒𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙎𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝟵𝟮 by Shift Entity, in collaboration with Tatiana Vejic and Max Denis. This exhibition is the second chapter of the project titled 𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙊𝙣 𝙑𝙤𝙡𝙘𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙚𝙨, a collaboration between Komplot and 019 Gent. At Komplot, the exhibition will present the latest developments of the project since its first chapter in the project space of 019 back in December 2024. Shift Entity is a Brussels-based artistic duo initiated by Axelle Devaux and Pierre-Clément Malet. Their work revolves around the concept of shifting realities, where consciousness projects itself into alternate realms. They create immersive installations driven by their fascination with natural and counter-intuitive phenomena, such as the Fata Morgana mirages or pyrophytic plants. Through spatial strategies and collaborations with other artists, they develop narratives that subtly blend reality with science fiction. Central to the narrative explored in this project is the real-life volcanologist Katia Krafft. In the first chapter, the scene was set in Katia’s laboratory in the 1980s. The second chapter, however, will project into the spring of the year after her death during a volcanic eruption, post-fire and post-eruption. 𝙒𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙎𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝟵𝟮 explores ways to reconstruct these parallel realities and settings while experimenting with scale. The artistic duo often invite other artists to build on their narrative together. For this project, Tatiana Vejic and Max Denis complement the project with a painting and textile practice, as well as sensory elements and scent. About our last collective show in April 2025. The program « The Tuning of the Afterworld » start with the work of composer and theorist R.Murray Schafer, published in 1977: « The Tuning of the World ». A pioneering work on the notions of acoustic ecology and soundscape, it has inspired numerous musicians and artists. The program, conceived by curator @fanny.testas , questions these two concepts in the age of the Anthropocene and contemporary crises. Artists, theorists and researchers invited to @ensa_bourges will work with students to develop new relationships to sound and listening, with a view to creating a collective exhibition at Ensa’s gallery, @labox_ensa_bourges , and at the Château d’Eau in Bourges. For this occasion, we present our sound installation in collaboration with @emlaau , « First Blossoming of a Lava-Fuelded Consciousness, Spring 92 ». A look back at our residency at @raviliege during 3 month with @safiatou_anna_toure @sebal74 and @paul.gerard_ 💌 During this time we worked on two projects. The first is a collective show at Bourges curated by @fanny.testas during April 2025. The second will be an other collaborative show at @komplot_brussels curated by @thibaud_leplat @camille_vm @pauline_salinas_segura @julie.de.kezel with @maxguntherdenis and @tatianavejic in June 2025. Here is a text from our fictionnal character K. K is an hybridization between human consciousness and pyrophytic plant. (Pyrophytic plants are counter-intuitive phenomena, as they are reborn and propagated by fire). We’ve been working on these research themes since our residency at @iselp_brussels last year. For future projects, we´d be interested in getting in touch with scientific and fiction writing research groups, to develop the essential preconditions for this kind of hybridization. We are planning to take several months to work on our exhibition at Komplot in June 2025.
