Ive been really challenging myself to find new places to learn how to make different types of art. Grateful that places such @sharedprintfac exist and allow artists of all levels to come and learn new techniques and mediums. This month I went to the printing press jam and the cyanotype jam, and they host monthly jams on a variety of subjects, so I would definitely recommend checking out their site to see if any catch your eye. NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale brings back Rob Pruitt’s Flea Market on Sunday, April 26, Noon — 5 pm. Since 1999, the internationally renowned contemporary artist has staged his nomadic flea markets worldwide, from New York to London’s Tate Gallery and at NSU Art Museum in 2021. Local artists will sell their art and wares during this one-day event at NSU Art Museum. Modeled on a traditional open-air bazaar, Pruitt’s Flea Market offers a chance to meet artists and take home original artwork in a relaxed atmosphere. With bartering and haggling as both economic and performative, and a diverse array of goods from artwork to housewares, the event blurs the line between art and commerce. Admission is free.
